If a dog's owner(me) has let thenails get to long. How often should i clip them to get them back to the right length. He is a pug with black nails, and your video helped me locate where to cut them at. Thanks. Now if he would just sit still for me. :)

Joel,

Now that pet food companies are putting so much stuff in their pet foods which are toxic it is very hard to keep dog nails at a good length. I suggest you watch for the signs posts of the nails (where to cut) and once those places begin to appear again (about two weeks but could be more or less) cut the nails again until you get them worked back to a normal length.

About holding him still. If you can get someone else to hold him all the better but you can do it all by yourself. Use what we call the football hold. Stick your pet under your arm, point him out the back if he is a biter, and use the holding arm to hold the leg you are working on.

Good luck!

Susan
