So, if you want to downgrade your PSP back to its original firmware version, you first need two things:
• A USB cable to connect your PSP to the computer
• The correct downgrader software program
Regarding the downgrading itself, the instructions are usually provided when you get the downgrader. You have to make sure that you follow the instructions properly as downgrading a PSP firmware is risky and can render your PSP useless or brick your PSP. For example, if you own a PSP with a firmware version 2.6 and you used a 2.8 downgrader, it will brick your PSP or convert it into a worthless but expensive piece of junk.
There are some people say that downgrading your PSP is not worth the risk. However, for most PSP users who realized the maximum potential of their PSP, it is definitely worth the risk. Just remember to carefully follow the downgrading instructions and make sure that you are using the correct downgrader.

Thanks for this little guide pspfan, that was pretty cool. I installed custom firmware from PG a couple weeks ago, and it's amazing what the pandora battery can do these days. I have a freind who bricked his PSPs a year or so ago, and he had to sell these off for parts for very cheap. If the pandora battery was around then, he could have restored his PSP to it's original state with ease.

if you have a 5.03 you need to look up chickHENif you have 5.50 youre stuck unless you have a PSP-1000 or early PSP-2000, you can use pandora to downgrade to any firmware you want (i recommend 5.00m33-4)

You need a Pandora batterie to downgrade the 3.95 firmware. It cost about 20 $, search it by google. There are also many tutorials how to downgrade.
