You have to take enough care of your gun to keep it shooting. Only if you keep cleaning it properly will you be able to take enough care of it. The gun could start rusting from all sorts of elements. If you use it on a daily basis you have to make sure that it is cleaned off the dirt, the gun powder, the lead and of course your sweat. If the gun is damp on the inside it could also lead to the rusting of the gun.
You should make the best type of arrangement to clean your gun on a regular basis. It cannot be kept in the best working condition unless you follow the instructions below.
1. You have to detach the gun barrel and the far ends from the main body and keep them separately at the same time avoiding scratches or other kinds of damage.
2. The barrel has to be cleaned carefully. You could take some oil on a gauze piece, fix it to the plastic jag and push it through the barrel holes a few times till it is clean.
3. Each barrel tube has to be cleaned with a bronze brush fixed at the end of a cleaning rod which could be used about four or five times to scrub the barrel tubes.
4. You could also use paper towel on the ends of the bronze cleaning brush and insert it into each barrel pulling through the space between the chamber end and the muzzle till the paper towel does its job.
5. You could also take a little bit of oil in a wool mop and push it down each barrel to help keep the barrel intact while you are storing the gun.
6. The action could be cleaned with an old toothbrush and later wiped with a clean cloth to clean up the remaining dirt.
7. The trigger, its guard and the inside and the outside of the action could be wiped clean with an oily rag. A forend or a dirty stock has to be cleaned up using a damp cloth. You could also polish it with some stock oil.
You could of course buy a new Gun Safe which is definitely one of the best things to buy if you have a gun. It is ventilated and so the firearms stay fresh. It helps keep the gun away from the children and thieves too. It has a combination of electronic locks and it can be locked at multiple points. They could also be certified for fie endurance.
