How To Determine location from IP address
78Information
Sometimes, for one reason or another, it is necessary to find the location of an IP (Internet Protocal) Address. First thing you need to do, is find the IP address, which can most likely be acquired from your webhosting company, or other routes.
Once you find the address, copy it. There are websites, which will allow you to look up the location of the IP in question. I use this one. Paste the IP address in the search field (about 3/4 down the page) and click "Submit". It will provide City, Country and provider details. If this service isn't working, for some reason, a quick Google search finds additional, similar, services.
Please keep in mind that IP lookups won't give you the exact address (street address) of a user, only a general area. A user may also be using an anonymous proxy, which doesn't use their actual IP. IP searches aren't always 100% accurate, either.

This is useful. I also use dnsstuff.com for a bunch of IP-related queries.
