Chocolate Rum Fondue

Ingredients :

  • 8 oz (225 g) dark or semisweet baking chocolate
  • 1/3 cup (85 ml) whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) rum
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) orange juice
  • 3 mandarin oranges, segmented
  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 8 oz (225 g) can pineapple pieces, drained
  • ½ lemon

Procedure :

  1. Melt chocolate, broken into pieces, with cream, rum and orange juice in a fondue dish on a heatproof bowl over pan of hot water. Keep warm.
  2. Arrange pieces of fruit decoratively in a bowl with small wooden forks or cocktail sticks. Squeeze lemon over fruit to preserve color.
  3. Allow guest to dip the fruit of their choice into chocolate rum sauce. Alternatively, serve fondue with ladyfingers.

Makes 6 servings.
