Thrush Infection occur naturally in the vagina, and Candida albicans is the fungus that causes it, the growth of this fungus is being kept under control by the bacteria that are usually present there. Other than the vagina Thrush also occur in the areas of the mucous membrane like the inside of the mouth or in the moist skin.

Causes of Vaginal Thrush Infection :

• Main cause is excessive intake of Antibiotics, antibiotics when taken in excess can kill even the good bacteria
• Hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy or through taking an oral contraceptives.
• It can also be contracted by sexual intercourse with an infected partner.
• Infection of the penis is not common, but it is more likely to occur in men who have not been circumcised.

Symptoms :

• Itching and Soreness
• White and Sometimes thick vaginal discharge

Prevention of Vaginal Thrush :

• Use sanitary towels not tampons.

• Make sure you wipe from front to back after using the toilet.
• Inform your doctor that you are prone to thrush, particularly if you are prescribed antibiotics or the contraceptive pill.
• Avoid wearing tight jeans or trousers.
• Do not use perfumed toilet preparation such as soaps and bubble baths; don't use vaginal deodorant.
• Don't use disinfectants in the bath.
• Use only mild detergents when washing your underwear.
• Use only feminine wash with pH 5 level
• Don't antibiotics unless absolutely necessary.
