In order to draw up a professional executive resume, the secret is to make it as short yet comprehensive as possible, because when your resume is too long, the potential employer can loose interest easily or regard it as too tedious or time consuming to read. But what do you do if you have many years of experience and a comprehensive work history?

It is crucial that your resume has the target audience, the prospecting employer, in scope and address it accordingly. It is good to know what the employer would want to know and what is relevant to the position you apply for and make the relevant changes to your resume.

The vital part of your resume is what is called the value proposition. That is the part where you portray that you have distinctive abilities such as setting and meeting goals in a designated time frame, problem solving skills, adaptability and the ability to produce the desired goals and objectives of the relevant position you apply for.

Making a list of what your responsibilities were during previous appointments has no use. That only tells the employer or recruiter that what you were supposed to do. Elaborating on what you have achieved during your period of previous employment, such as your management authority, budgets you had to manage, number of clients you had to provide service to etc. All these things indicate your effectiveness and abilities much better than a list of responsibilities.

You must consider the content you present in your resume carefully. The focus must be on what value you will have for the company and you want to create the impression that the company can not do without your service. It is not disputable that the majority of employers are interested in what your most recent job experiences are, however, what you have done in the past, can be advantageous as well.

It is not possible to predict in which way an individual will read and appreciate your resume. However, you have the opportunity to make use of your resume to create the urge to meet with you.

You can get a killer executive resume that helps you get an interview call by contacting resume writers.
