Mana efficiency. That's it. That's the key to leveling quickly as a shadow priest in World of Warcraft. The only thing that slows a shadow priest down is running out of mana. Here are a few strategies to reducing your leveling time and picking up those quick high level rewards.

1. Take Spirit Tap. If it takes three weeks to get to level 70, Spirit Tap will probably save four days of questing. It really can't be overstated how important double spirit is after battles, especially mid level when itemization can suffer.

2. Learn2wand. That ranged slot on your character screen might not look all that important, but mana-free dps is nothing to ignore. Even a green wand used every other battle can completely eliminate the need to replenish mana in pve. Don't make it too difficult.

3. Downrank Psychic Scream. This is probably the biggest mistake players make. You don't need to fear five opponents in pve and the extra 150 mana every battle is destroying your mana efficiency. Use rank one psychic scream if you use it at all.
