It's Not the Mountain we Conquer, but Ourselves.

"Those who wish to sing always find a song."

Swedish proverb

Hey, I’m not just looking for the right song to sing! I'm already singing it.

Thanks to the fact that I'm Living My New Story. Today.

I had a rare look at the news here in Australia today. We’re told that the Reserve bank says, “100,000 face losing jobs as confidence slumps.”

When I read the rest of the report I realised I have a Choice.

To get down in the dumps as confidence slumps OR to get my mountain climbing gear on and conquer the biggest mountain ahead – ME!

Sir Edmond Hillary said, “It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.”

I began to realise the truth of that statement several years ago when we faced a huge mountain in our family that made me feel like a useless ant right down at the bottom.

And as I looked up at that mountain that separated me from a loved one in our family, the lights turned on in my brain and I realised that if I focussed on the mountain, it would always be huge and I would always be insignificant.

So I began to Focus on How it Will be When I’ve Conquered that Mountain.

Talking about my own uselessness would never help.

I’d have to harness my thoughts and stop thinking and talking about that obstacle.

I’d have to line my thoughts up with my desires and speak the right words.

I’d have to stay focused on the time when I’d have scaled that mountain of separation and it would never ever again keep me distant from the one I love.

I Had to Become What I Wished to Attract. Right then. Not some time in the future.

It’s a hard climb – no doubt about it, and I’m climbing still, but I’m going to conquer… ME.
