Here is today's clue. The clue to solving is "unscramble the first letters" - you'll just have to figure out which first letters to unscramble.

Congratulations to Peter M. Lopez who solved today's clue first. Today's topic is FINANCE. (The flags tell you which languages to translate the color of the circles into: Crven (red), Ezüst (silver), Niebieski (blue), Indigo (indigo), Amarelo (yellow), Fehér (white), Nero (black). CENIAFN = FINANCE)

You have until noon tomorrow (Friday, Pacific Time) to publish up to 10 high-quality Hubs, each worth 3 points, that must:

  • be on the topic of finance; remember, keep it informative and useful; (here are just some examples "Tax-free municipal bond buying guide", "Creative ways to finance a home purchase", "Do stock picking programs really work?", "Mutual Funds Fee Guide", etc.)
  • include the tag finance
  • have at least 300 words (no credit for 299 so you might as well overshoot)
  • be unique and significantly different from any other Hub or Web page.

Of course, it must comply with our Terms of Use (not overly promotional, adult, etc.) Keep in mind that in judging, we're looking for Hubs that are informative, interesting, engaging and unique.

BONUS! For each eligible point for the day's contest, you will win one entry into a daily drawing for $100! Read the HubLove Official Contest Thread for more information.

As always, we look forward to seeing the entries!

Also, look later in the day for the updated tally of points on the HubLove Contest page.

OK, my theory is that we're supposed to figure out what each color or part of the flag on which the dot is located means. (i.e. the Hungarian flags - red is strength, green is hope). The problem for me is that some of the other flag meanings have wildly differing "meanings" on the internet. And none of the word scrambles are coming out. Plus, I don't know if the colors of the dots up there (black, blue, white) mean anything. I'm just laying it all on the table because I don't want to wait 3 hours for an answer. :)

Yup, Steph. The Italian flag doesn't have clear color meanings. And the dots confuse me too.

Agreed, and I am not sure if there is one dot that is "light blue" and one just "blue".

Maybe a Hint would be that some of those flags above are also used as naval signals......jimmy

I don't get how the meanings of the colors would have any relevance. Not much you can do with the Q from Quebec either. I'm just confused.

I think it is time for an extra clue :)

Supplemental clue: Focus on the color (not the shape or position) of the dots, and the possible meaning of the flags.

Miniclue - the dot in the second flag in the top row is silver (I tried to apply a metallic luster to it...)

And....the dot in the first flag in the 2nd row is indigo.

Just clarifying! The rest of the colors are pretty straight-forward.

I just can't get it - I am translating the colors from english to their other languages (yellow, white, silver, indigo, turquoise, black, red), and still can't get anything unscrambled that makes sense. Hungarian, Croatian, Polish, Italian, Portuguese, French (Quebec)..... I'm out.

So far, the word unscramblers have given me UNIFACE and FACIENT

hubpages  says:

stephhicks68 (and all): that should be "blue", not "turquoise". In many languages other than English, there is a difference between "lighter blue" vs "darker blue", which is why I chose to make it a bit lighter in color.

Peter M. Lopez profile image

Peter M. Lopez  says:

Is it turquoise or blue.

Finding a language that had a color starting with "E" and "I" was almost impossible. Hence the "silver".

Polish doesn't really have one word for blue - it's either niebieski for sky blue, and granatowy for navy blue.
