HubLove Clue - Wednesday, February 27
54Another clue sponsor seems to be having technical problems! So here's the clue, hosted here at HubPages:
(The answer has four letters)
The power of ten:
I had a truly wonderful time in Paris, but a fact they don't tell you in guidebooks is a person stands to gain a lot of weight. A lot. Between three meals a day I snacked lots and gained thirteen pounds! I didn't think you could gain that much and not notice. Well, I've exercised like crazy and lost nineteen pounds to date. I haven't felt this great in years and no longer fear health problems as I grow old.
Don't give up throwing in your guess until the correct guess and winner are announced below here by us. And remember you get two guesses now, and the winner wins two points.
Congratulations to Peter M. Lopez who solved this clue first. Today's topic is TEEN. (every tenth word in the sentence yields "a person between thirteen and nineteen years old")
You have until noon tomorrow (Thursday, Pacific Time) to publish up to 10 high-quality Hubs, each worth 1 point, that must:
- be on the topic of teens/teenagers - remember, keep it informative and useful, and not just a purely-personal account of your feelings/experience with teenagers (here are just some examples "How to safely give teens more freedom", "Teenage babysitters - Tips and Advice", "How to instill responsibility in teenage children", "Great teenage movies", etc.)
- include the tag teen
- have at least 300 words (no credit for 299 so you might as well overshoot)
- be unique and significantly different from any other Hub or Web page.
Of course, it must comply with our Terms of Use (not overly promotional, adult, etc.) Keep in mind that in judging, we're looking for Hubs that are informative, interesting, engaging and unique.
As always, we look forward to seeing the entries!
Also, look later in the day for the updated tally of points on the HubLove Contest page.

Sorry, gamergirl.
There's some deciphering that's required for this clue. Reread the whole thing. I feel like people are just tossing out words related to the topic of the clue.
it has to be something we can write about

See, I've come at it from a math angle, from a health angle, from the power of ten, but I can't come up with a four word answer that relates or makes sense clearly.
It's easier cuz you guys wrote the clues, Jason. :P

HubPages, this is not my 2nd guess, but are we going to feel stupid when the answer is finally posted? Just wondering.
"notify me at once, when the clue has been guessed"
slow
Well, i did 10 to the power of 2 = hundred = CENT in French and that failed.
Notice the clues about time: time, date, years, growing old. I can't find a 4-letter word to sum it up in Eng or French.
Someone send me a message when the clue's been solved. Back to work with me
Hubpages (you got the south park reference..sweet!!!!)

No, Peter, it's not a terribly easy one, but it's not terribly hard either. It requires reading and using the entire clue. But it's a challenging clue, definitely harder than the previous ones. :)

You all might want to use your lifelines - call a friend, post on another forum, Yahoo Answers, whatever. But I'm not going to give you any hints. :-)
I am losing weight as we speak, "I'm hungry"
Peter got it!!!
"a person between thirteen and nineteen years old"
yes - 13 to 19 = teen years
Well done Peter....jimmy
Whoo hoo Peter! Now we don't have to guess anymore :)

So you'd have to be math minded?! ;o)
Yes, every 10th word = A person between 13 and 19 years old.

Great job Peter!
Congratulations! All I have to say about TEEN is that I would never want to be one again. :)
Wow - thank you for saving us from further misery Peter!! Congrats!
Nice work, Peter
Oh yes - kudos to Peter, too!
Dang it. I was sitting here with scraps of paper, 13 to 19 spelled out, rearranging letters...how silly of me.
WTG Peter!
OMG - it's The Bible Code for Hub Pages! hahahahaha
I know, Stacie, so was I. Patty, yeah, something like that.
Way to go Peter yehaaa!!!!Congrats zs
My forehead is flatter now. I've got to stop smaking it.
so now we have to write about teenagers??? =/
Speaking of South Park, your clues are like that goofy scientist guy that would come to conclusions through the strangest connections. It's the one where Kyle has to reach into Cartman's b&tt and he keeps F#$ting in Kyles face. Remember that guy?
Careful, vreccc - we try to keep this a PG-13 neighborhood. Yes, I remember that episode. I'm a big fan of the show. :-)
Warning noted, hubpages. I love it here and don't want to cross any boundaries.
Lol at Patty's comment...haha. Damn that was tough.
congrats!
