One of the funniest things we did when younger was fill a paper bag with dog doo doo...ring the doorbell and start the bag on fire...and run like hell to hide and watch the owner or whomever opened the door scream and stomp out the fire...hee hee lol thought that was really funny...
Hated bobbing for those apples..like soo much !!! Loved to go around twice to fill our pillowcases full with candy...Back then we even could eccept homemade goodies...dah.. before they started to put razor blades in them or poison....
Remember those great popcorn balls..Blackjack gum..money..and once in a while a whole candy bar..chicken bone candy..Bit-O-Honey..Mountain bars..Clark bars..Old Henry...well you get the point...Yummy candy..so good for our teeth..and orange pumpkin cupcakes..I loved those..
We would always hide some so we could sneak it when we wanted more...some houses were so scary and we would always pass them up..some always invited us in to pick our treats..we stayed out for hours running through the neighborhoods having so much fun collecting candy...
TODAY: well today is so much different..I think we all see that and know why that is... HAPPY HALLOWEEN...?????????

I never cared for Halloween not one of my favorte holidays. When I was a kid it was different now I worry so much about what Jacob gets would just rather buy him the candy and have him stay home. lol. But the kids enjoy it and I do it for him.
yes we do many things for our loved ones...don't we...especially children so they will have fond memories of their youth and know they are loved so much...You are a great lady my dear and always remember that ok? God Bless...G-Ma :o) hugs

We were the lucky ones with our old fashioned Halloween. The children today have all the cool decorations with optic lights and smoking machines for creating creepy illusions, but we had it all. We could feel safe on our streets until very late at night. The neighbors watched out for each other and the home made treats were always the best. Makes me sort of sad to see how much tradition has been lost to commercialism and FEAR. C.S.

Good one mom. Although I always have hated orange cupcakes. We used to steal everyones gas caps off the cars. Even our own parent's. Then those stupid cars came out with locking gas cap doors and ruined our fun.

G-Ma, the memories don't change do they? SO as we now have seen the origins and how the holiday practices came about. So like all holidays they were adapted after time, when the christians did not need to hide behind the celibration, they then added there influences onto them. So after many centuries we now mostly just celibrate a time of dressing up and trick or treating. Go for G-Ma ;-O
