If you take a look at my profile you will see I have been a member for ahh I dont know I think like 14 months or something. You will notice I really havent done much. I saw HubPages as a great way to promote my hubbies business but in the last week or so I think I have had a bit of change in my thinking.

I just finished reading several hubs and really am quite surprised at the quality of writing here. I did say in my profile that I like writing but I never said I was good at it. After reading some incredible hubs I realize it will take a lot to be even close to many of the writers here. However I am not about to give up on my love of writing. I hope I can only get better with time.

Anyways as I said I originally intended for this to be a platform for my husbands affiliate marketing gig. Well I still think I can help him out but not to the extent that some would think. Its quite clear to me now that this isnt a place to be spamming every new item that comes into the market place. I do however believe that through honesty and hard work I may get noticed enough to help out him and his team.

When I first started writing this piece the first thing I thought of was what keywords I should use. I know thats kind of funny but in writing articles I have had keywords rammed down my throat. I have been told I dont write anything unless it has keywords and it leads to something that will make us money. It didnt take me long to say forget the keyword crap. This just isnt the place for it. Or not entirely anyways.

I have read quite a few hubs on how people are annoyed at people using HubPages as an avenue to earn affiliate commissions. To be honest I dont think its a bad thing as long as you can offer the reader what they are looking for. Im not saying I will never write another hub without a link in it. What I am saying is I will put some serious thought into what I will be writing. Anyways enough on that for a while.

Like I said earlier there is a lot of talent hanging around HubPages and I would be pleased to be able to write even a fraction as well as they do. For some of them I dont understand why they arent out writing and earning money in the real world. I understand that for some this is just a place of release, a place to let your thoughts out. For me it will be a little about everything as I guess it is for many others.

So now I ask what will HubPages do for me? Well I seriously hope to write well enough and interesting enough to get some followers. I want to use it as a medium to let a lot of things be known. I have a ton of topics I would like to write about. Living with an oilpatch husband, affiliate marketing in our family, owning a chocolate lab for 11 years, how I love my cats, being a mom to 3 boys, fishing, learning to budget, what friends are about and so forth and so forth. I believe at the end of the day I can very nicely build a mix of business and pleasure in my hub pages that will be beneficial to people all over.

At the end of the day Im really not sure if this hub made sense or if people trully understand what I am going after. I guess I will continue to write and see what happens over time. If anything I am at least doing what I love and thats writing. I dont see how my writing cant improve but maybe for some its just not meant to be. Whether its meant to be or not doesnt matter as long as I am writing.
