Just like many others, I've decided to join in the HubPages Hub Challenge. I have committed myself to doing the 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge. I'm actually shooting to do more, but 30 is the minimum I will do. Some are attempting to create 100 Hubs in 30 Days, to match Ryan and Court's original new make money experiment: 100 Hubs in 30 Days. I wish I had the time to commit to such a challenge, but I don't. But God bless anyone who does and is!

I've decided to participate in this challenge for a few of the following reasons:

1. Anyone who doesn't participate in this challenge in some way is just plain foolish, if you ask me. This challenge is already creating a huge stir in the online marketing & blogging world, and therefore will create a huge potential for great link juice. It will stand as a trend topic, but if you create evergreen content, you should have no problem with creating a residual income from your efforts.

2. I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, I just wasn't sure how or where to start. As Darkside commented on Should You Make Money with HubPages?:

"The advantage of publishing so many articles at a site like HubPages, is the community spirit. Some people do need motivation. Some people do need to be inspired and encouraged. And it’s not something that most people can easily do when they’re doing it alone. The enthusiasm of the HubPages community will push a lot of people to set their sights high (in terms of quality) and accomplish their goal (of quantity)."

Motivation by Ryan Hupfer was an extremely smart move for the HubPages team to make and one of the many reasons why HubPages will always continue to be a Flagship site in Google's eyes.

Now that I've got the motivation and team spirit of the HubPages community to back me up, I've figured out what I am going to do for my efforts in the 30 Days Hub Challenge.

It's really pretty simple. For the past few months, ever since I noticed the true potential and power of HubPages, and after stumbling across Court and Griz, I knew I could do more with HubPages. So I started focusing my efforts a little more back on creating Hubs and then the Hub Challenge comes along. Perfect timing!

Here's what I'm going to be doing (and have already done):

1. I have decided to not only create Hubs on this profile, but I've also set up a completely new profile with which I will be publishing. I am targeting a specific niche for this new profile (as opposed to this one, which is just random Hubs) and have set up a user name tailored to that niche. I got a jump start on my new profile and set up a profile page, participated a little in the community, and started writing Hubs. I started my Hubs already because the official launch date of the Hub Challenge is not until Monday, May 11, 2008 (I started writing this Hub early also, Saturday) so I am already creating my Hubs, but waiting until Monday to publish them. I've noticed that if you let Hubs sit or take a day or two to completely craft them, they start out with a higher HubScore. Still haven't figured out if this helps any?

2. In brainstorming I recently (a few weeks ago) decided that I wanted HubPages to be my primary publishing site for now. I didn't want to go through the hassle of creating multiple sites, hosting, etc and found it much easier to create Hubs. Plus they rank fairly well on their own so I didn't have to do much in terms of SEO if I did a little bit of keyword research. So, I decided I am just going to target certain keywords, create my Hubs, and work backlinks to my HubPages. Follow my progress at Make Money HubPages: Hub Challenge (not yet published, coming soon).

3. As I add new Hubs to the Hub Challenge, I will add them to this page so that this Hub can serve as almost a Home Page or Link Farm to my Hubs. Learn more about how you can do the same using your tags at How to Use HubPages RSS Feeds. Hopefully, the interlinking between my Hubs will prove to have some benefit. Only time will tell...

In the meantime, participate in the poll, check out the latest news in the blog world about the Hub Challenge, even feel free to drop links to your first Hub that you created for the Hub Challenge in the comments section below. Best wishes to all Hubbers participating! This should be fun!
