HubChallenge Tips

The HubChallenge has started. It is already 1:30 AM in my part of the World and I have already published my first contribution to this Challenge. I have been with HubPages for over a year and have published 150 plus hubs and this challenge is extremely important to me as this is the first time I am taking any challenge related to HubPages. I am extremely grateful to this site as I have learned more about making money on the internet in this one year than my entire life put together. HubPages have also enabled me to be a better writer than what I was before and have branded me as an expert on Gemstones and Hindu Religious Mantras and have given me the web exposure I could not have dreamed of elsewhere. So what can be a better way to express my gratitude than accept the Challenge and Contribute to this site? However, I am also aware that by accepting the Challenge I am only helping myself because

1) 100 more Hubs will help me reach the magical figure of 250.

2) More content means chances of making more money with adsense, eBay and Amazon.

3) By participating I am also leading my referrals by example. If I can do it, anyone can!

I am not an expert to talk on this subject but here is what I plan to do and think you should do too in the coming days.

  • Stay Focused on my Goal and Plan my Action: Being a Marketing person I have always made a habit of writing down my Goals and planning how to accomplish it. This time my goal is to write 100 hubs in 30 days which would mean 4 hubs a day considering the fact that I may not want to write hubs on a Sunday or want to go out on the weekend. I have made an Excel sheet on what I would write on these 30 days and how many hubs to write on a daily basis. Now all I need to do is focus on my Goal and stick on to the plan. If you find it difficult to plan all the 30 days in advance the least you could do is plan your next days activities before going to bed.
  • Involve Referrals and Friends: I have always found that I am more effective in achieving my goals when I involve others. So I think it is a good idea to take the Challenge along with friends so that you can motivate each other in reaching the goals. If you can involve your own referrals it would be even better because you can lead your referrals by example and also get a share of your referral impressions.
  • Visiting and Commenting on Hubs participating in Challenge : By commenting on the Hubs participating in the hubchallenge can bring traffic to your own hubs and also get an idea of what others are writing and their progress in the Challenge.
  • Smart Usage of Keywords and Revenue Capsules: I don’t think that I am qualified enough to talk on the subject of keywords. But those who optimize their keywords have told me that it has given them increased earnings. But I have never been the type who is much bothered about keywords. I write on a flow and only ensure that I don’t do a keyword stuffing. Using the google adwords keyword tool might be a good idea. Also don’t forget to monetize the hub with relevant products of eBay and Amazon.
  • Share the Hubs on other Networks: After publishing the hub share the hub on networks like Face book, My Space, twitter etc to bring in more traffic to your hubs. Personally I have never bothered much about sharing the hub in Digg, stumble upon etc but have seen several who get huge traffic because of that. After all, any traffic is good traffic. Make sure you promote your hubs through RSS Capsules, friendship sites, blogs, forums etc.

Finally a word to those participating in the HubChallenge : If nothing else happens atleast this is going to be a learning experience for you regarding which topics work and which does not when you are going to write a 100 hubs.

I am sure that there might be more things one can do to get the best out of the HubChallenge which I may not have written here or ignored. Please feel free to add them through your comments. If you are not already a hubber there is no better time to start than when all the excitement is on. Sign up by following this link. I wish all the best for all those who are participating in the Challenge.

  • Mangal Dosha in Horoscope

According to Astrology Mars or Mangal is the planet of power, strength, courage and aggression. The influence of Mars on the positive side gives us energy, strong will, independence and self confidence. A negative influence can mean violence, disaster, conflicts or injury. It also indicates premature death as with loss of partner. But there are remedies and conditions when the mangal dosha gets cancelled. - 5 months ago

Thanks for the tips, I'm not so sure if I can do 100hubs in 30days because it took me 2days to finish just 1,but I will try. I'll just tell my baby to prepare her food and daily necessities all by herself, haha just kidding.

Well, Ryan mentioned in the Forum that everyone can start the challenge at 11th May which ever part of the World you belong to. So I published my first hub at 1:15 AM and this is my second one.

Thanks for the comments belief713, Time Management and Charia Samher. Wish you all the best for the Challenge.

Good Luck to you Anamika! For me HubChallenge is not so much about money as it is about really the challenge. I still don't know if I can do it. I do the same thing you advised and try to do 4-5 hubs a day. I'm grateful to Hup for this, because I was just about to stop hubbing when I got the newsletter. I was thinking about whether I could do it all day yesterday and then I decided to finally pick a fight with my own laziness.

how much do you earn in hubpages anamika...

Anamika S profile image

Anamika S  says:

That is a personal question which i would prefer not to answer. If you are wondering you can earn or not there are plenty of hubbers who have discussed it and even revealed their earnings here . For me Hubpages accounts for almost 50% of my Adsense earnings. It also has added to my ebay and amazon earnings.

Thanks for the visit quit.smoking.

Anamika, its heartening to hear that another Indian has made money on hubpages. I still have not a cent to show for my hubs. But as I joined hubpages more to built an online portfolio I have met my goal. Still it was interesting to read your hub.

Maybe i ought to do something about the challenge as well? I believe there is a 30 hubs in 30 days challenge out there too?

Great advice, and that's the steps I'm following too. I hadn't ever done the keyword optimization, so I'm using it now just for the tags on each of my hubs. I also went back through some of my older hubs and changed the tags using the keyword tool you linked, and am seeing good results as well as increased views.

Good luck with the 100! I'm doing 30.
