Wow! 2007 Went Quickly

2007 was a year of rapid growth with a lot of learning. We launched a major new site design, refreshed the Hub Tool, added forums, introduced Requests, made it easier to follow your favorite Hubbers with Hubtivity, setup spam filters and removed adult content just to name a few new things.

Spam is one of the most difficult things for us. It takes hours of our time each day, and hurts the experience for all high quality authors. I want you to know that we are committed to fighting spam on HubPages. We believe that quality content will make us all successful together. For all the people that flag spam Hubs and report spam forum posts. THANK YOU! This is a huge help to us.

HubPages 2007 Traffic

2007 Key Stats

With over 34 Million visits and 75 Million pageviews it was a successful year. In July we pulled the plug on adult content. Adult content represented a significant portion of our traffic. From the graph, you can see that in mid July traffic peaked. That's when we chose to eliminate adult content. Subsequently, traffic decreased. At the same time we hit some duplicate content issues (search engine issue) that affected traffic as well. It took a few weeks to get the duplicate content issues straightened out. Once we did, we've seen steady and consistent growth.

Thank You from HubPages

To all the people that make HubPages a better place. Thank you.

We wish you the best in 2008!

I only joined the 'Hub' late fall. I'm addicted to all the great-ness going on here. To an enormously successful 2008, Hubpages staff and Hubbers alike.

Paul, how about a glimpse of your gorgeous model's growing spurts?

Thanks

Thank you for providing a place to "chat" in a friendly environment. I am new to the HUB experience but have found only positive as I have visited each HUB. This feels like a good place to be.

Still a bit of a newbie here, but loving my experiences! Anything from being able to include pics with hubs, to waiting for the first comment, to simply interacting with other hubbers!

I may not know all the staff involved behind the scenes, but whatever role you have to play, I do thank you for your time, giving us this creative platform where we can write so freely. Just wonderful!

Many happinesses in 2008 to staff and hubbers!

I spend more time looking at Hubpages than I do on Myspace, which for a mid-20's Hubber is apparently an amazing feat. :P I love Hubpages, and totally look forward to ringing in 2009 with you all!

Thank you, Paul, for giving us Hubpages and keeping it both clean and in search engine favor. I am still somewhat new here, but already I love this community and want to be an ever greater part of it. I have only published one hubpage so far, because I feel I owe it to Hubpages to present only exceptional, well-researched work. But I may come forth with some cogent commentary from personal experience that would make interesting articles - and certainly plan to be active this year. While I like to give appropriate references to other peoples' sites at times because it is helpful and fits the "conversation," I don't want it to be considered spam. Thanks for your help and guidelines.
