How to Make Your Hubpage Profile Work for You
67Why is the Profile Page Important on HubPages
The profile page is important on Hubpages because you get to introduce yourself to the hubpage community. You should tell only information about yourself that you are comfortable with. It would not make sense to divulge information online that is not relevant to your writing interests. You may mention how you use your spare time but remember that you are writing on a site of writers. You should not, for example, write about long bear hunts in the forest if you are completing your profile.
Hubbers sometimes use the third person to introduce themselves which is rather unusual because the profile becomes less informal. Your conversation online and as you introduce yourself on the hubpage profile page should be conversational in tone. If you are used to writing thesis and term papers, you may want to dispense with formatting and just imagine yourself speaking to another person of the same writing interests.
It is not necessary to go back to when you were born but the location from where you are writing now could be prevalent to your profile. There is a hubber who constantly writes about Indian women and it is a sure bet that his profile will mention that he has visited India in his travels. Information about his travels will be relevant because of his interests in writing about Indian women.
The hubpage community is a group of different people with different ideas who has a penchant of putting their thoughts and knowledge online in a way to generate comments. Your profile is unique because of the differences found in different parts of the United States and abroad.
If you are proud of an accomplishment, then your hubpage profile should explain your pride. Logically, the hubpage community will be expecting to see relevant articles about your accomplishment. Of course your telling of the information is highly voluntary and is entirely up to you as to what you say about yourself. If you are writing about your writing accomplishments it is prudent that you list any websites that you own. Listing the websites that you own is not promoting the website itself, but is telling the hubpage audience where you travel and perform on the internet.
Do not mention the website more than once or the article may be tagged as overpromotional. You want to tell about your connections to other sites on the internet in a conversational tone without advertising or selling your website. There should be no embeded links on the site that would guide the hubber to a commercial site. At one time job hunters were typing in keywords to get the employers website to attach on to the key words in white print. The human resource manager could not see the information embedded until notification at which time the font color was changed black. Do not use the profile page to try to capitalize on using photoshop, for example, to get earnings on Google Adsense.
The profile page is to let the reader know information about you, the writer because the reader has taken the time to read and to comment on your article. Clicking on the hubber's name as the writer will bring up information about the author such as how long they have been with Hubpages, how many posts they have responded to and the total number of fans and the number of hubpages they have written.
If the reader wants to learn more about the writer, he or she will click on the profile page. There is where information should be found about what you were willing to tell about yourself and your writing accomplishments. In summaray, It is suggested that you speak as if you are talking to a person and not in the third person. It does not make sense to speak to yourself in the third person when writing about yourself to someone else. Pleasant information about writing interests and other useful information about you should be discussed so the reader can have a better understanding of your genre of hubpages.

You continue to post valuable insights into the Cyberspace world. I agree with everything you said and I thank you for saying it. I notice that you are only 4 months in HubPages but you still feel confident enough to present yourself as an expert. Maybe creating 309 Hubs in 120 days instills that kind of aplomb. I believe your thoughts are correct. Thanks!
