Hubpages verses Squidoo

Hubpages and Squidoo are two websites where you can make money off of your pages. In both cases you create pages (though slightly different) that are put together with building blocks. You are writing more then just an article as you piece together your page with text, pictures, links, lists, and revenue options.

Which one is best?

Building a Page

On Hubpages the pages are called "hubs" and on Squidoo they are called "lenses". No matter what you call them. They are fun to build. Each page is pieced together by using building blocks (capsules on Hubpages and Modules on Squidoo) that include information, pictures and other media, and or revenue building blocks.

Hubpages-Hubpages gives you some flexability with two columns on your page (if you choose) and a slightly different color option for your work should you have those two columns. However you have a relatively limited number of options.

Squidoo-On the other hand, placement is a little more restricted on Squidoo, but you have a ton of different options.

Because of all of the options on Squidoo, it is more fun to make a lens then a hub. However, it is often quicker to make a hub because you don't have as many choices.

Getting Traffic

Since you are trying to make money with both websites, traffic is important. Traffic is easier to get with Hubpages. Their site makes it easier to find information, to browse hubs, and to build up fans and traffic. Squidoo isn't as easy to use and must be promoted.

Making Money

Since many people have the desire to make money with their pages, it can be said that this is very important. I think that with so many different revenue options on Squidoo it has the potential to be a larger money maker then Hubpages. However, since it takes no extra time to start making money with Hubpages, it is quicker to make money that way.

Hubpages lets you add an ebay capsule and an Amazon capsule (like the two below). Squidoo includes these as well as several other awesome options.

Content

Hubpages has a huge amount of content. It feels like the point of Hubpages is to have a lot of good content right here on this site. However, many people on Squidoo use it to advertise their websites and other things they are involved in.

The Winner

I really can't decide. I enjoy working with both and producing content on both. So, I have decided to leave it up to you. I started a MonkeyBrain on Squidoo to see who was the winner. Here's your chance to go and put in your two cents as to which is better.

Well ! Yesterday I Joined Squidoo and Published my First Lens on Laxmi Nivas MIttal. It almost 6 Hours to make my First Lens. Squidoo is TOO SLOW as compared to Hubpages. Hubpages is Far Better than Squidoo. Earning Money on Squidoo can take several Lifes. I am still wondering How My Google Adsense, e-bay and Amazon Affiliate Accounts Get Linked to My Lenses in Squidoo. Is it done by Default? I did NOT Find any option to link my Referral Codes. It was my First and LAST Lens. I am never going to spoil my Time on Squidoo. Useless.

I have had a better experience on Hubpages thus far. However, Squidoo has a lot of options and they let you write lenses on your other articles and your blogs, where Hubpages frowns on that and in some ways can even punish your scores for that (if you have too many links to the same website). With Squidoo you don't enter your referral codes. Instead, Squidoo pays you.

Squidoo takes all their Google Adsense and then pays everyone using a complex formula. Then the e-bay, Amazon, cafepress, and other affiliate programs that are on your page make you money directly.

A good comparison. I've been using Squidoo for a while, and just built my first hub. Definitely quicker to build a hub!
