~ Earth Friendly Shopping Made Fun ~

Welcome to my earth friendly & handmade hub page! These are some of my favorite places to shop online for handmade and earth friendly goods.

I love knowing that I am directly supporting families and small businesses with my purchases, and receiving items that have been handmade with love and care (not mass produced in poor labor conditions or by workers paid unfair wages).

My youngest is out of cloth diapers so I no longer get to shop for those but I can buy organic bath and body products, journals, hair clips, un-paper towels (these totally rock!), kids clothing, womens clothing, and much more.

Hyena Cart is my favorite places online for shopping and connecting with other work at home moms.

Etsy is exlusively for handmade items and has a beautiful selection of hand knit, hand dyed, and other items.

IndiePublic is a bit like a MySpace for crafters. You can find some very talented individuals there and lots of tips and ideas.

Silk Fair launched only recently but has a nice selection of handmade items.

Shopping at Hyena Cart

Hyena Cart is a fabulous place to shop for handmade and earth-friendly goods for your family and friends!

The first step to shopping at Hyena Cart is to register for an account then you can login on the My HC Page anytime (it's one of the orange tabs at the top).

Shopping at Hyena Cart is a little different than many ecommerce sites. When you click a "Buy Now" button, the item is yours. It's not in your "cart" -- you've purchased! So be sure to only click "Buy Now" when you're ready to buy

Payment is most commonly accepted by PayPal, but some sellers also accept RME and money orders. Be sure to check the shop you're at before you purchase to see if they accept the payment method you want to use.

There's a built in feedback system you can use to check any sellers feedback, which is always a good idea!

Cool places to begin shopping from are:

  • The Most Spots Page: these are items other users have "spotted" as cool.
  • The Stocking Calendar: see everything new on HC.
  • The Search Page: find exactly what you want.
  • The Shop by Store Listings: every active shop on HC is listed here, and you can also see them by category.
