64Why do people try hypnosis?
You might be wondering how hypnosis can help you in your life. Hypnosis is being used quite often as an alternative to conventional medicine. Lately, hypnosis has become more popular among law enforcement, psychologists and physicians. Hypnosis is becoming more popular because many folks are finding that it has potential to help them accomplish their goals more effectively than many of the traditional routes. One place that I have noticed to be very effective and inexpensive is the Brigham Hypnosis Center.
Hypnosis helps people in so many ways. One way that hypnosis can help is with pain. When used in an appropriate manner, hypnosis has been shown to be a terrific resource in controlling pain. One example of how hypnosis helps control pain, is if you squeezed your hand very tightly until it hurts and then someone asked you to concentrate on something else, you wouldn't be as conscious of the discomfort in your hand.
Another issue that people use hypnosis for is anxiety and depression. Hypnosis assists with anxiety and depression by first dealing with symptoms. It helps slow the heartbeat, creates balance, and induces relaxation with slow breathing. A person who is anxious frequently breathes faster and experiences a faster heart rate. With the help of hypnosis, they learn to lower their heart rate, breathe slower and take themselves away from whatever it is making them stressed.
Some folks have used hypnosis to stop smoking. Science Magazine writes that hypnosis is the most productive way to stop smoking. Hypnosis first deals with the reasons you smoke (stress, boredom, etc), and helps you to break the associations with smoking, and to generate new habits and routines that aren't associated with the old habit you no longer need or want.
Are you tired of every fad diet out there to help you lose weight? Hypnosis can help you change your bad habits and the way you live. It will help you learn to defeat general weight-loss mistakes, eat and think healthy, conquer your cravings and increase your self-confidence. You can make behavioral and mental changes for life.
Hypnosis isn't only for adults. Many children have benefited from being hypnotized as well. Hypnosis in kids is used to treat lots of behavior disorders, anxiety in children, and also discomfort and pain. Another problem that many children have, is wetting the bed. Many doctors prescribe medication for children who have a bed-wetting problem. But now more doctors are turning to hypnosis, which has very positive results. One of the reasons that it works is that children play an important role in their treatment rather than simply taking a pill. After being hypnotized their brain is re-programmed to help them respond to a full bladder while asleep the same way he/she does while awake.
Another common problem in children is asthma. When kids with asthma feel their throats constricting, they start to feel anxiety and breathe faster. When using hypnosis, children learn to breathe easily.
Hypnosis has also been quite effective in helping children with pain from cancer. The child learns to “go somewhere else” away from the pain. By accessing the unconscious, the child creates illustrations that force them to focus on something beside the pain they are feeling.
So if you or your kids are suffering from any of these issues, don’t give up without giving hypnosis a try. If you are still uncertain that hypnosis will work, don’t take may word for it. Check out some of these hypnosis success stories. You'll find many folks that have had a lot of wonderful outcomes with Martha Wilks Harrison and the Brigham Hypnosis Center.
