My eight year old niece has suffered from asthma since she was just a little thing.

And anyone who suffers from asthma; or has children that suffer from this condition; can contest to how much work is involved in keeping asthma attacks at bay.

Realistically though, different individuals suffer from varying degrees of this condition. Thereby, leading to various measures that need to be implemented; helping them lead a "breath easy" life.

For my poor niece however, in addition to sleeping on special bed and pillow covers, using an air purifier practically every night, keeping her inhaler handy, and steering clear from residences with carpeting (when at all possible), her mother had to eventually relieve her of all her beloved stuffed animals.

Unbeknowst to her, those same beloved stuff animals were actually triggering her asthma attacks (the materials they were made from were attracting and holding on to dust and dust-mites - which is a common trigger for most asthmatics).

Much to her relief - and her mothers - we found a great way to replace all of her beloved stuffed animals with some that were catered specifically for her needs.

* Enter - The Hypoallergenic Stuffed Animals.

There are a bevy of hypoallergenic stuffed animals on the market today that would please any kid.

Take for instance the stuffed animals made from Kids Preferred :

These stuffed animals are not only certified asthma and allergy friendly, they are also made of material that has been rigorously tested and proven to maintain low levels of allergen. In addition, they can be washed frequently to keep allergen levels (such as those caused by dust mites) significanly down.

Others are made of durable polyester fibers (which can be surfaced washed) and filled with hypoallergenic bean pellets (which are similar to the Styrofoam pellets found in bean bags - only smaller).

Available in different animals types, it makes a great gift for the asthmatic, stuffed animal lover.

* Their Debut Made Quite A Hit.

Boy was my niece overjoyed when she received her first hypoallergenic stuffed animal!

She absolutely adored it, and loved the fact that it was especially made with her needs in mind.

At times, having asthma made her feel isolated from her peers since there were certain restrictions placed upon her.

And then when her favorite play things were taken away from her - well, that was "the straw that broke the camels back."

Therefore, a since of normalcy was quickly returned, when she could finally fill her room with stuffed animals that wouldn't literally take her breath away.

- So if you're looking for a great asthma-friendly stuffed animal, why not try these suggestions on for size.

Then sit back and watch the joy on the faces of the little recipients.

Thanks Hello, hello for your kind comments. It was hard watching my niece go through this, and then see her lose all her stuffed animals! So we were forced to do some research to find a product that wouldn't affect her asthma.
