Do You Know if You are Diabetic?

Diabetes. Are you a diabetic? I am. I had warnings. One sister died in a diabetic coma, another sister has it, so does a brother. So here I am, living with, and fighting with, diabetes.

The love of sugar, and sugar-laden foods and drinks has not helped me. Sugar is not the only problem with diabetes, but that's another story.

If you do not know for absolute sure that you don't have diabetes, now is the time for you to find out. Also, for your loved ones. Even very young children can develop diabetes.

Diabetes is not a thing to be ashamed of, it's something to take hold of, and try to keep down to a minimum.

Okay, you might love that drink in your hand, but which do you love more, the drink or the hand? Diabetes attacks nerves, which can be in your hands, and any place else.

Yes, I have to do a simple little test, but they have the very smallest ultra-thin things to use for this. I used to faint whenever I had an innoculation, but now even I can do the test all by myself!

You need to know the numbers this test will give you. Are they up or are they down? I'm not any kind of medical person, just another person with diabetes.

Please research and find out what is in your blood system. There could be more than diabetes there. Many things can be found out from one simple little blood test.

Are you hypoglycemic or hyperglycemic? You need to know the answer to this, and also, the differences.

Exercise is very good for you. It helps your entire body, from head to toe. Also, drinking water is good as we all know.

Take time to learn. Even animals can be diabetic. If you haven't found out your numbers yet, please do. Numbers are also ever-changing. You have to keep a check on it.

Sugar too high? Drink that water, it flushes sugar out of the body.

I am also one and so far it is not difficult for me. I take one small dose of a pill dailey and it is all under control. Has been for 10 years. Not that i don't have to be careful for infections, in grown toe nails, cavities and so on. No sugar and no booze (well on an occasion) watch the fruit, exercise and check your count everyday. There is a dietician's scale you can get to help decide what you can eat next. i don't need insulin so things could be different for you.

I have found out you can have it for 10 years b-4 it is detected..and it causes nerve damage..which I have...but no surgery for me I will just deal with it. taking advil has made a big difference for me and my joint pain...but is hard on the stomach at my age...But I take all kinds of herbs to help. ceyenne, thistle, seaweed. and so on. I am sure you have researched it all. G-Ma :o) hugs
