I used to love telling the stories about the fun we had,
but now I rarely mention your name.

but now I hide the tears when you call.

I have spent hours and hours trying to help you,
But you ignore my advice and my feelings.
I deserve more.
I knew who I was before you came along,
but somehow I seem to have forgotten.

Even though I've been scared,
I'm not anymore.

Even though you don't appreciate me,
Someone will.

I appreciate me and I will have more.

Thank you Trish! I had a burst of inspiration late last night or early this morning and wrote and posted 3 hubs in just over an hour. This is one of them. The other two are related.
Lying is so destructive. It ruins so many relationships. It destroys trust. No one deserves that.

Oh, I so love it when the 'bursts of inspiration' happens. I just wish it would happen more often. You're so right. Lying is nothing but destructive, however, I think the intent of people who do that, sometimes, is because they believe they will hurt the person by stating the truth. And that thought is so far from the truth, the lie hurts much more, even if initially, the lie told was meant to prevent harm.
Sometimes the truth does sting, but we're so much better off hearing it, even if we don't want to. Generally, we don't recognize the importance of the truth till much later.

Oh! Here's the third one! I must have gone to bed before this one came out. Anyway, yes, you wrote three wonderful poems--and wow!--in such a short time. Very inspired.

Honesty is the best policy - trite but true. I saw my mother alienate people because she couldn't tell the truth and couldn't even remember what she had told to whom. It was so sad to see. It is something I have to fight myself because that is how I was raised. However, my wife keeps me in line if I start to drift off course. I can so relate to this. You are really on a roll. Keep it up!

Sometimes, people don't recognize love. Or, if they do, they take if for granted a lot of the time.
Communication is the key to everything, honest communication, in my opinion. Without it, where does one go? How does one learn how to be, or not be?
Everyone deserves more, or the best. It's the attaining it that's the hard part.
