As I look back at the history of the United States and I think about all the horrific events that have happened in the last 30 years; I think about Martin Luther Kings Dream and what he stood for! He stood for equality and fairness!

Do we see that in this day?

No!

What we see is each person for themselves what I see is a man eat man world!

I really do not see a world of discrimination of color I see a world that discriminates on the poor. I hear how the poor has caused so much pain to this nation and how they have cost this nation so much harm.

In my quite times I ponder in my mind how a poor person could have so much power that they can take a powerful country like our so far down! Or is it that we are ashamed of the poor! Are we ashamed of what we did to them so we have as a country have decided to shame them to death.

From city to city the homeless put in jail for resting on a bench. They are spat on for asking for help. They are forced away when asking to use the latrine!

What shame they must feel!

On this day I have a knew dream; I have a dream that this nations steps up to unity forcing the hatred out of our way!

I have a dream that those who are Americans and die everyday so that you and I may live comfortably on our soil. Each soldier that has died giving us a better path to prosperity, liberty, and freedom. I have a dream that they have not died in vain but died for what they believed in “America The Beautiful”

When the constitution was signed it did not ever shame the poor nor did the language of the Constitution shame any American for being homeless!

As a matter of fact; I believe the Constitution says all Americans have the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!

I wonder if Martin Luther King would be ashamed of this dream? Are you ashamed of this dream?

Who should we really be ashamed of the poor or the greed around us?

LET GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN!

Good hub Matthew, although I'm not an American I see your point. You sound like a remarkable man.

I have been more and more discouraged by the me first attitude so I agree with you Matthew. Dr. Martin Luther king would have tears in his eyes if he came back and saw what progress hasn't happened towards his dream. There is an upside though. We can change things. As a people in the USA we turn the tide. All we have to do is want to. Want has the same number of letters as Can't.
