A Clean Toilet is Possible

Acquiring a clean "throne"

It seems there are about a million different products on the market these days to help clean your toilet. And believe me I think I've tried about two-thirds of them only to be completely dissatisfied and upset that I spent the money on yet another worthless product. When we moved into a house that was built in 1958, has a well, and extremely hard water I was at my witts end trying to figure this thing out! Our toilet were orange, streaky, huge hard water deposits, and just plain nasty.

After trying product after product to get rid of this disgusting dilemma I finally went to a specialized cleaning product store. They showed me a product called "Genesis". I was super skeptical as it wasn't expensive at all and it sounded to easy to be true. All I had to do was turn the water off to the toilet, flush it once to get most of the water out, squirt a decent amount of this stuff under the rim and around the bowl, and let it set. After about 10 minutes I went back and swished it around. To my amazement most of the orange was gone, the smell was gone, and most of the hard water build up was gone. I then took a 50 cent pumice stone and scrubbed the rest of it off. When I turned the water on and flushed the toilet again to rinse the bowl it was really shiny. There wasn't any more stench, no more orange discoloration, and I wasn't embarrassed anymore to have people over for fear of them needing to use the bathroom.

So, what is needed to clean a toilet like a pro?

  • a bottle of Genesis
  • a pumice stone
  • a tiny bit of elbow grease

Yes, really!! That is it!!
