"I Kissed A Girl" number ONE on the charts?!

My new favorite pop star is Katy Perry! I first heard about her when I was listening to my favorite morning show. On the radio they were interviewing Madonna, another fantastic pop artist. She announced that her new favorite song was “You’re So Gay” by Katy Perry. After hearing that this was Madonna’s favorite song, I had to look her up and listen to this song. And I gotta admit I did not like this song at all. I mean it was funny but the music and the lyrics actually kind of annoyed me. But there was still something about her unique voice that made me want to listen to it again. Again I didn’t like it. So I decided to listen to a different song. This is when I heard “I Kissed A Girl” by Katy Perry.

“I Kissed A Girl” is now my favorite song. Yes, I know what you are thinking, “doesn’t a girl sing this” and the answer is yes. And her name is Katy Perry. This is actually a hilarious song. The first time I heard it, it made me laugh multiple times. “I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it” is my favorite lyric in the whole song. I guess if she has a boyfriend then she isn’t a lesbian.
I read another hub by Glassvisage about this day’s music being really awful and how she couldn’t believe that this was the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 Music Chart. And although I respect Glassviage’s opinion, I gotta disagree. This song has a great beat that fun and up-beat. Too easy to lose yourself in the music.Hot N' Cold - Katy Perry
Hot N' Cold
Another song I love by Katy Perry is “Hot N’ Cold.” I listened to this song about a hundred times on YouTube before it finally came out on Itunes when I could finally buy it. This song is so catchy and also very humorous at the beginning. It almost has the same beat as “I Kissed A Girl” but not quite. It still has the same steady beat that the drums keep but it is a little faster and probably more catchy.
Although I like “I Kissed A Girl” a little bit better than this song, I have listened to this song more times. It is currently the most played song on my playlist. But that will most likely change by tomorrow. I wish this song had a music video because I bet it would be fantastic and even if it wasn’t at least the song would still be awesome!

Over all Katy Perry is awesome. I am so excited to listen to the rest of her new c.d. called One Of The Boys. She has a great sense of humor and it shows in her music. I love that she is just herself and doesn’t worry about what people are going to think when she produces a song. Her songs captivate me because they are so different and fun to listen to. Plus I think Katy Perry has a fantastic UNIQUE voice. She sounds so deep and low like Cher and Heather Small but in a different kind of music. Better music.

Whitney05 - yeah I love it too. My absolute favorite song for the moment. I am surprised you don't like Hot N' Cold. I think that is a great song just like I Kissed A Girl.

I don't like it...it feeds into the moral decay of our society. She has a boyfriend and shouldnt be kissing anyone.
Haha. I thought it was funny. Well if she has a boyfriend, wouldn't he want to know if she was a lesbian before he went and married her? I wouldn't want my husband to find out he was gay after it was too late?
I luv the song "I kissed a girl" its so catchy kinda lyke the song "shake it" by metro station but this song has more humor."shake it" reminds me of americas best dance crew but i love americas best dance crew. i dont rlly like the song "shake it" though

It is a funny little whimsical song, my 13 year old niece had it as her ringtone and I just about came somewhat unglued, however it is innocence, purely innocence I was a pre-teen and teenager myself once, so this I have not forgotten.:)

I love I kissed a girl. One of my favorite songs. I heard it while in the car with a friend. She turned up the radio at a redlight. It was funny, more so since she's gay and I'm lesbian, and she's convinced I'm not straight. lol. Hot N Cold isn't as good to me.
