I opened RoundCube Mail this evening to find that I had made just under $160.00 from the Site Sell affiliate program. I had 2 new referrals. Most of the online earnings I had made in the past were from AdSense and other ad programs - but not often from affiliate programs. So 2 sales in a row was great news.

Does affiliate marketing work?

I have come to the conclusion that affiliate marketing does work when the product being promoted is a good product. One of the main reasons I think I had trouble making much from affiliate programs in the past was that I would promote products that looked good on the surface and seemed to be relevant, without taking a closer look at them.

I think making almost $160.00 from 2 sales is a lot easier than waiting for ad-revenue to stack up to $100+, if done right.

Site Sell is an affiliate program for promoting a product called Site Build It! Site Build It! is a software and training course for individuals and small businesses looking to make a presence and profit online. Since one of the websites I run it is related to running a successful online business I decided to promote Site Build It! there.

The entire Site Build It! course and software costs around $300.00 and is becoming a favourable alternative to traditional web hosting, since it provides training and tools to create and monetize an online business from the ground up.

The thing I found most effective about their affiliate program is that it provides a wide range of tools that makes it quite simple to target individuals and small businesses online and offline. There is an impressive amount of testimonials, banners, and regular text links in the affiliate control panel that are quite helpful.

I recommend taking a look at Site Sell for those who have tried affiliate programs on their blogs and sites before without much luck. This is a turning point for me and I hope to be able to make more promoting Site Build It! in the future.
