I Think I Saw The Real "Big Brother!

 My friend was in shock when I told him; I thought I saw the real Big Brother! He questioned me like an interrogator saying, where, how, who and are you positive about it? I began to to feel like I was being "water boarded" and he was going to let me drown.

 Eventually I calmed him down, we sat at the breakfast table and he let me tell him about what I had said. As I started to tell him my story, he started ranting again; How tall was he, is it a he or a she, did he speak to you? I put my hand over his mouth and he quieted down.   I told him I wouldn't say anything else, unless he kept quiet. Knowing this would be difficult for him, I kept my hand over his mouth. After all, he could breath through his nose. Now it was time for me to tell him everything about my Big Brother story.    I asked if he had ever seen the movie 1984? His muffled response was; of course! I chimed in with; you may never see it again, the government might ban it. Big Brother may not allow it to be seen, it would offend him.   He pulled my hand from his mouth shouting; This is America damn it, I have the freedom to do what I want! Now tell me who this person is that you say is Big Brother? Saying; You see him on TV all the time. I see a lot of people on TV every day, he screamed! Now will you please tell me his name. First I'll tell you how I came to this conclusion. He replied with an; Oh Man!   I described it this way. We live in a Democracy where laws are made by separate parts of government passing legislation after reading, speaking and voting on the bills. He nodded in agreement. I then continued. Today's government is controlled completely by one party, the Democrat's. Our President is also a member of the Democratic party. So what are you saying; He said civilly.    This is the administration that promised transparency and change, is it not? Once again he nodded. Well they are operating in the same fashion that preceding governments have done, and the transparency, ha. Democrat's do not allow Republicans have a say in anything. Sure Obama says they talk, but he never takes any (not one) idea from the Republicans. The President is making more and more private businesses run by government.   General Motor's lost its CEO because the government told him to step down. GM is/was a company that chooses its leaders by the stockholders voting. That was before the government was under Big Brother. Now 72% of the company is government owned. Chrysler, well that's a little different but the government has a percent. He broke in saying; that sounds like the mob! How could I disagree.   The government gave us the "Stimulus Package." Do you know anyone that has done well because of this, I mean the people? His answer was; Umm, err ahh, NO! I told him the government was going to build a bridge for Turtles. His response was laughter, then he said ; you're kidding? I nodded my head.   I asked if he knew anything about, Cap And Trade? He shook his head and added; Not very much. I told him that Senator's and Representative's don't either, but The President wants it passed soon. One part of it wants you do do something special when you try to sell your house. He laughed, and said; Did you say, sell! I simple yup and I added; You will have to make your house energy efficient and it will be inspected by government workers that must approve it. This infuriated him! He busted out with; What the hell is going on in America? This is nothing of what our forefather's wanted, I want a piece of this guy. What can the government run efficiently?   I told him; The government has no idea what "the bottom line " is, they can't balance anything. Now the government is making major businesses government owned. Hey, I can see your point, he stated. So who is "Big Brother? That is such a simple question, said I.   His name is Barack Obama! George Orwell wasn't quite right, but it is just too familiar for comfort.
