When Am I Ever Going to See Money?

It begins with a wish for most people, they want to write and they want to showcase their work to others. They also would like money. I've seen that for many people new to hub pages, ones that don't have blogs for long, or aren't familiar with what goes one to make a hub seem to ask the same question, but for me a more important one is "when"

How is variable, but When is a bit easier to answer.

Google AdSense Payments:For those who live in the United States and Canada there is a very easy explanation to when. Google AdSense doesn't give out payments until you get a minimum $100 dollars in money from your hubs, and blogs, and other websites.

in general this means that per day you need to be making about $3-4 per day, roughly. This will allow you to get a payment each month. I have other hubs which deal with how so you can see those, but this deals with when.

If you say make $100 in any given month, and this accumulates, you get payed sometime during the next month, either by direct deposit or cheque. By accumulates this means, if you get $4 in one month and $8 the next your running total is $12. Keep going until there is $100 as the total, and google will send a payment.

Also be aware that you won't get much to begin with, everyone else notwithstanding, it is based upon traffic, keywords, and blog, google won't let you put ads up on a blog without content, and a poorly preforming blog, well don't even go there!

Just one thing, you need to sign up for google and they have rules which they give out, read the contract, Yes I know it's three pages, but still read it.

Amazon Payments:This one is a bit harder, mostly because if you live in the United States it's one thing, and elsewhere it's another. For this one, you need to enter your information to them at for outside the United States, you get a cheque when you earn $100 through shipped items. For in the United States you can direct deposit into your bank account, at $10.

There is one thing that people need to understand with this one: It's based upon shipped items or performance, not on clicks, so take some time when planning to show books on each of your hubs that people will click and buy. The rate of performance is also in a percentage so the more items shipped the faster you'll get payed. (For amazon.com, the beginning percentage is 4% of total items shipped. Then this percentage increases after 7 items shipped. It goes up from there.)

Quick recap: Cheque at $100, and this is what you get outside the United States, or cheque at $100 in the United States (minus a fee for those in the United States only!) or direct deposit at $10.

Kontera:Now this is a bit different, I'm sure you've all seen the littel box while editing you hubs, that says Kontera, this is similar to Google AdSense, except that if you see a "link" with two lines, that is where the ad is, inside your hub.

Hubpages themselves say that you should be making at least $50 per month on Google AdSense before placing Kontera ads on your hubs. Now, I don't have Kontera on my hubs, and I'm not sure if I will, but It is a part of this group of when will I get paid, and their payment structure is $100 payout. The other thing is this, according to both hubpages and Kontera they might not count anything less than $5 towards your running total.

Last but not least.

eBay: This one like, amazon is a personal choice, one which i don't use myself. It is a performance based structure like Google AdSense, and Amazon and others, and according to hubs pages and eBay, they deny a lot of applications. So, don't be surprised to find this is the case.

Although they don't say when you get paid, they do recommend that you get a lot of traffic on your hubs, and have at least a good idea on how to get traffic to you hubs.  I believe in this case when you get paid is more a matter of how well your hubs do.

So, be aware that when is a big part of how and if you understand when and how your hubs and other online networks will do well.  A bit of patience and practice will go a long way.

A very interesting article, but I'm not sure how to get Amazon to advertise my books on my hub pages.

Wow, you can really pump these things out. I've gotten three or four alerts about you publishing a new hub! That's really cool. I'm still thinking of my first topic...I thought of one (open-comment questions about HubPages) and it's only about 650 words, is that good enough? Or should it be longer?

Anyway, your article here explains why I only see Google AdSense and Amazon links on peoples' articles! The other ones seem more difficult. Getting approved for Amazon is easy. For AdSense, I have to at least publish something first, so I don't know yet.

There is a quote in this article I really like. I would love to be able to use it. "When is a big part of how." Now that is a masterly way with words. I've been reading and writing for decades now, and that's quite an original one. Well done.

Rebecca, I once was told by a hubber that he made $1000 a month. He even promised to send me the instruction. I never heard from him since then. I just write for fun and that's it. If anyone is looking for the money, good luck. Really, I don't think you can make much unless you write for a living. Thanks for the great information!

Hi Rebecca, hope you are well, i am better now that i have come accross someone who has alot of knowledge and understanding of blogging. I am very new to this, as you will find out if you read my blogs. There is a quick question i wanted to ask you, if you wouldn't mind in answering. How do i register with Google Adsense? And do i have to have my own website? Could you kindly do a blog on these topics if you can?Thank you.
