I Wish I Had a Best Buy Gift Card Instead
61The same as everyone else, I have several repeating monthly expenses. My in-laws started using some credit cards that had money back rewards. Using the credit card to pay for the normal daily items such as food and gas can add up quickly and one can get rewards back in a relative short time. Some offer cash back, and others offer reward cards, such as a Best Buy gift card.
I went oline and set up an account and started using this credit account for my budgetary items. I paid it off every month to make sure not to assume any finance charges. Within a few months I had enough points to get a $100 gift card. I have actually three gifts cards from them, now.
For the gift cards, so far I chose Circuit City gift cards. With it, so far I purchased a nice Panasonic camera. This used a complete gift card and one half of another gift card. And I am still working on obtaining more gift cards.
Well, to my surprise, what is announces on last Friday, January 16th. Circuit City is going out of business and is liquidating all of their stores. I checked their website to see if I could still order online. Nope! In store liquidations only. Well, at least they say that they will still honor gift cards, which is to my great relief.
Here I am sitting on $150 of gift cards. I just keep saying to myself. Gee, I wish I had choosen the Best Buy gift card instead. At the time the Best Buy gift card required more points to redeem, so I choosed the Circuit City gift card instead.
Tomorrow, on MLk Jr. holiday, I will be traveling to Minneapolis to find a Circuit City store, since there are none located in Iowa. I am wondering what to buy. My children want Guitar Hero World Tour, with the drums and accessories. So that is the first choice. If they do not have that, I will need to decide, what I will purchase, maybe another camera. A LCD TV would be nice, but that would cost more than the $150 that I have in gift cards.
I just hope that the store did not empty out on Saturday and Sunday, so that I will still be able to find something to buy. I would hate to lose the $150.
I just wish I had taken the Best Buy Gift Card instead.

Eovery, do you have the Best Buy Link that talks about the rewards, sounds interesting. I just use my debit card and buy only if it is necessary.

Sorry, I don't. I did the hub based on the high dollard amount of the adsense clicks. I need to find an affiliate for best buy and add it.
The credit card I used were citi-bank. I guess I need to find an affiliate to citi-bank and do another hub, and link these together, now that I think about it. Affiliates for credit cards pay pretty good, too.

Thanks Eovery would love to hear about it. I saw BestBuy giftcards in BestBuy stores but they didn't post any awards information. Maybe next time when I go there I will ask them. Regarding my name, I wanted Cgull but somebody took it already, I tried cgull8, somebody took that also. Then I started using Cgull8m :) I don't like to eat them, they are the most incredible flying birds I have seen so far, they are none like it :)

I used Citbank credit cards. One that gave cash back every 3 months, and the had an award system, which had Circuit City, Best Buy, and several other as gift cards for the rewards. See I had taken the Circuit City gift card, when I will have to take Best Buy Cards now. Best buy does have a reward system, if you buy their products, but not a Best Buy credit card.

I gave up Circuit City a long time ago. I'm a cheap bastard so Best Buy has always been my spot to go but I wonder how long any of these big stores will be around as the industry is changing so much and people are becoming more into ordering online. Good luck on your drive.
