We used to be crazy over those 'stay-n-alive' & 'macarena' songs in college. They still holds magic.
Thanks for an interesting Hub. I love dancing also but don't think I'm too good at it though.
The one point I didn't like was the Macarena bit, that has to be the second worst song ever written, only Achy Breaky Heart is worse in my book! Hate those songs!

G-ma, My nexthub is going to be about the dances of like the 50's, The Stroll, The Mash Potato and the like. It will be up next week sometime.
When we did the Chicken Dance we mosified it a bit at our New Year's Eve party. We all got into a big circle holding hands. Tehre were 70 of us and it nearly filled the room! Instead of swinging with your patner the DJ picked a person out of the ring and had them do the Chicken in the center and then that person got to choose another person to do their thing in the ring. We did it three times, but there is no telling how many times you can do it. I will tell you tht it takes my hubby a few persuasions to get me on that dance floor but this DJ got just about everyone out there with this dance. Oh and after the dance we all made a train to see if we could get others who didn't join us to join in. It was fun!!
