Ummmmmm.....yeah, that is why HE told them "you search the scriptures because you think you have life in them, but I tell you they speak of ME"

Go figure....

That is why I love the Torah !!! The Prophets and The Writings.

One should learn to preach the gospel without the New Testament, esp. if you are talking to a JEW, it is a challenge for most. But that is all they had back then and they turned the world upside down. Even harder still is the ability to preach without using a single scripture in your sermon and have people repent.

They call them PROPHETS.

Sadly today, many do not read the OT enough.

I also wish they would have left the book of ENOCH in the Bible too, what a loss!!!

Good hub....Shalom

You are correct in what you said about the Torah, but the Enoch book does not harmonise with all the other books in the Torah, and the way that the KJV words are used are from the Original languages without losing meanings and formats about Yeshua OR/ AND Immanuel(God with us)

Joh:5:39: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Isa:7:14: Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

I am a Gentile and believe in Yeshua who is Immanuel the redeemer the Kinsman.

Hey man thanks for the honest feed back. Liked your hub.

I had a comment to your comment.

When you said...

"but the Enoch book does not harmonise with all the other books in the Torah," (can you explain exactly what you mean with 'harmonize'?)

You said also...

"I am a Gentile and believe in Yeshua who is Immanuel the redeemer the Kinsman." (YEAH ME TOO, NICE TO MEET YOU)

About Enoch...

Hebrews 11:5 "By faith, Hanokh (Enoch) was taken away, so that he wouldn't see death, and he was not found, because God translated him. For he has had testimony given to him that before his translation he had been well pleasing to God."***See Gen.5:24

Jude 1:14

About these also Hanokh, (Enoch) the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones"

Footnote:

*The quotation comes from the Apocrypha: Enoch 1:9.

The man was a real true prophet, why not hear him out?

My point was that the book had been in the Hebrew scriptures forever and was widely used and quoted, we have only 2 places here where his name is used in ref. to what he said of what happened to him. Messiah quotes him too.

So whatever counsel took out the book of Enoch, I believe did an injustice. But one can still find it if they need to.

It's not like your reading a book from "The Boogie Man"

Counsels of men do not always conclude all the truth.

Shalom

The Book of Enoch has the following inconsistencies. It mentions another Angel called Raphael, which is not mentioned in the existing bible

Archangels are found in Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism. Michael is named in the Bible and recognized Jews and Christians. Gabriel, named in Luke, is considered to be an archangel, and Raphael found the Book of Tobit and Uriel is found in the Book of Enoch. The Book of Tobit is in the Catholic Canon of the Bible; this book is considered apocryphal by the Protestants. The archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael are venerated in the Roman Catholic Church with a feast on 29 September. The named Archangels in Islam are Gabriel, Michael, Raphael and Azrael.

Within the rabbinic tradition, the Kabbalah, and Book of Enoch 20, and the Life of Adam and Eve, there is seven archangels , who are the focal angels. Three higher archangels are also commonly mentioned: Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel. There is confusion about one of the following eight names, which one is not an archangel. They are: Uriel, Sariel, Raguel, and Remiel , Zadkiel, Jophiel, Haniel and Chamuel. Medieval Jewish philosopher Maimonides made a Jewish angelic hierarchy.

The Bible used by Protestants, excludes the Apocrypha, and never mentions "Raphael" and therefore not recognized . Raphael, is mentioned in the Book of Tobit, one of the deuterocanonical books. In the story, Raphael comes to the aid of Tobit, healing him of blindness, and his son Tobias, driving away a demon that would have killed him. Raphael also plays an important role in the Book of Enoch.

Yup, that is true. Not all of the angels are mentioned in the "Bible" (a term I do not care for, I use "The Scriptures" rather, this is because that is what they are called)

The scriptures also talk about the 7 spirits of GOD and also the many spirits that rested on Yashuah. The scripture talks about a spirit of revelation and wisdom as well as others. These are all holy set apart spirits too. Very, very interesting.

A few of them are listed right here. Never really hear any comprehensive teachings on all of these spirits that rested upon THE MESHIACH. But they do and they did.

The Tanakh (Hebrew scriptures) is so rich with mystery and shadows of Messiah, by understanding it, we can peer into HIS vast All-Mightiness. The Brit Hadasha (New Testament) does not totally uncover everything about HIM as we know, but it does give a tremendous view of HIS MAJESTY THE KING OF GLORY.

If it was to explain everything about HIM that is spoken of in the Tanakh, the NT would be about 10,000 pages, give or take.

Remember how John said

Jhn 21:24 This is that disciple who saw these events and recorded them here. And we all know that his account of these things is accurate. Jhn 21:25 And I suppose that if all the other things Jesus did were written down, the whole world could not contain the books. (obviously not everything HE did was recorded, to big a task LOL HAHAHAHAHA)

Isa 11:1 Out of the stump of David's family will grow a shoot-yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root.

Isa 11:2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him-the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

Just wanted to add this:

The Odd Origin of the Word Bible

The word "Bible" does not occur in the Holy Scriptures. The English word "Bible" is a manufactured, made-up word. Its origin is in the Greek word for the papyrus (pa-Pie-rus) plant that the Egyptians used to make paper.

Not a big deal at all...just interesting.

Yeah there are plenty of things that are recorded outside the bible and in the bible, but to Harmonise the scriptures, is the key.Not only with Angels but also with, Jesus Christ. If the Bible says one thing it will also say it somewhere else.

Isa:28:10: For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Isa:28:13: But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Jesus also divided the Word into subjects

Lu:24:27: And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Lu:24:32: And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

Lu:4:17: And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

Lu:4:18: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Lu:4:19: To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Jesus shows us what to look to and what to ignore

One thing about something I heard many people say about what happened in Genesis where the "sons / angels of GOD came down and had sex with the daughters of men"...giants being the results.

Some say this is not possible because angels do not have a reproductive organ. Well that is true when they are not manifesting themselves in this realm to look like a man, something we all know they can do. (we might entertain one w/o knowing it says the scripture) When they appear to look like one of us, they have it all. When they appear to us in glory, they terrify us to the point that we want to worship them. They can appear anyway they wish. When Jesus (Yahshua) appeared as a man He had everything too, no big deal. After being resurrected Jesus appeared however He wanted as well, He even hid His identity from the 2 on the road to Emmaous. These things are not hard to do. We just have tiny minds and cannot get it figured out.

Just more things we find hard to understand is all.

Shalom Shavua Tov (have a good week, a week of peace)

Funny that you said this while I was writing my last comment on Jesus appearing any way He wished and you did not even know it nor did I.....praise GOD.

I honestly believe that if Enoch walked so close with GOD, I'd like to hear anything the man had to say ya know?

Here is one persons take on Enoch.

“What does everyone think of the book of Enoch? I watched a documentary and it got me interested. I've been reading it and wow, its interesting. During the early Christian movement, Ethiopian Christians adopted the Book of Enoch into their Old Testament, which remains today. Only since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls has the book peaked in interest, since 12 copies of the book were found in the caves at the Dead Sea. That convinced a lot of people that at least it wasn't some made up book over the years, and that early Christians actually read it. It doesn't say anything against the Bible that I have seen.

And since we're on the subject, what do you guys think about the canonization of the Bible? Was the judgment of the books to be included/excluded "perfect", as in, God's choices? Or do you think some important books, or at least true, could be excluded? I believe the latter, but it doesn't change my believe in the books currently in the Bible.”

History. The Book of Enoch was dropped from the Jewish scriptures shortly after Christ, most likely because it apparently referred to him as the Messiah. It was quoted as scripture by the early Christian Church fathers until the middle of the third century AD, accepted as a divine work having been written by Enoch himself.[5] It then fell into disrepute and was banned from the canon of scripture in the fourth century, partly because it didn't agree with how Christianity came to be redefined after the death of the apostles.

Some pretty neat similarities here: http://www.johnpratt.com/items/docs/lds/meridian/2

Jesus Christ and Enoch: Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. (Mat 5:5)The elect shall possess light, joy and peace, and they shall inherit the earth. (Enoch 5:7 {6:9}) the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the son (John 5:22).the principal part of the judgment was assigned to him, the Son of man. (Enoch 69:27 {68:39}) shall inherit everlasting life (Mat. 19:29)those who will inherit eternal life (Enoch 40:9 {40:9}) "Wo unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. (Luke 6:24)Woe to you who are rich, for in your riches have you trusted; but from your riches you shall be removed. (Enoch 94:8 {93:7}). Ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Mat. 19:28)I will place each of them on a throne of glory (Enoch 108:12 {105:26}) Woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! It had been good for that man if he had not been born. (Mat. 26:24)Where will the habitation of sinners be . . . who have rejected the Lord of spirits. It would have been better for them, had they never been born. (Enoch 38:2 {38:2}) between us and you there is a great gulf fixed. (Luke 16:26)by a chasm . . . [are] their souls are separated (Enoch 22: 9,11{22:10,12}) In my Father's house are many mansions (John 14:2)In that day shall the Elect One sit upon a throne of glory, and shall choose their conditions and countless habitations. (Enoch 45:3 {45:3}) that ye may be called the children of light (John 12:36)the good from the generation of light (Enoch 108:11 {105: 25}) the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:14) all the thirsty drank, and were filled with wisdom, having their habitation with the righteous, the elect, and the holy. (Enoch 48:1 {48:1})

I am enjoying the chat brother!!! You said..

Yes I know this, those sects are whacked top to bottom!!! They borrow from all kinds of things and invent doctrines.

I guess i do not get your point though. I mean the scriptures mention the book of Enoch and or quote from it numerous times. People also take from the scriptures and go off the deep end too. That is the nature of devils to do so.

Twisting the scriptures to they're own destruction!!!

If you do a comparison to the two it seems similar to other books in the bible but more the NT, and that's probably why its considered a sect scroll.

Strange enough Enosh was before the flood so I doubt he even did scriptures, as there is no recorded pre-flood texts, but from Moses. So this is what Jesus was saying, "I gave you Moses and the Prophets".

So whatever Moses said was the real info and also what the Prophets said.

Therefore Enoch and Enosh cant be linked.Enosh the seventh after Adam was the First to be taken away, without dying, and second was Moses after he died, then Elijah. These all Glorify Jesus in their existence Enosh the 7th a Christ figure Moses a resurrected Christ.Elijah the Born Again person where he passes on his garment to Elisha, a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

Their is also a book of Noah, but it also falls short of the Harmonising, and flow of the Accepted scriptures called canonical scriptures by the Catholic church

Nice chatting

Go well

"So whatever Moses said was the real info and also what the Prophets said."

Answer: Enoch is called a prophet to.

OK, but Messiah did quote from Enoch and others too, so do you think He validated the writings or not? If Enoch is quoted in the NT and Hebrews mentions him and Luke does too.

So does Genesis obviously. So I think the man must have been someone to recognize and if he walked so close with GOD as was taken, he might have someting to say, agreed?

Do you think a person will be led astray by reading them?

Do you think Enoch contradicts the scriptures?

Hi there

There are three Enoch's mentioned in the Bible. The first Enoch is a son of Cain

The second Enoch is a town named after the first (Gen 4:17).

The third Enoch is a son of Jared, of the line of Seth, third son of Adam and Eve. This Enoch, who famously "walked with God," is the seventh generation ,where Adam is the first.

The Word of God is his "Gods" perfect gene and the word must direct one to Jesus Christ, and remove all strengths of man and mans abilities. The pureness of God is Jesus Christ, he is the Key to all Knowledge. So look at it this way. If a door is locked you need the Key to unlock the door. The wrong key will not unlock the door. So trying other keys is pointless. So is it with understanding God, its all in Jesus Christ, and to us, in us, by the Holy Spirit because he "Holy Spirit" unlocks the scriptures and locks out the wrong scriptures. I am closer to God right now than even Enoch was God lives in me, called Holy Spirit". Enoch didn't have this Better Covenant.

I still dont think the book of Enoch is from the Enoch in the bible, no evidence that it came from 7th gen Enoch.

I would think its a distraction and written by sects in those days, that had access to Genuine scriptures, and made their own translations, This is where Islam started from also, sects that mimicked the Torah and New testament Gospels that's why they seem so real, but the Gene of God is not in them. Jesus warned of these things also.

Joh:5:39: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Joh:15:26: But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Important to be Born again of water and the spirit.

God is the beginning and the end, the light and the dark, the good and the bad; He is everything. We were created in His image and are also the same. We live and we die (yet we are eternal), we do good things and we do bad things. He is the creator of all, good and bad, puppies and worms, angels and satan, black and white, the beginning and the end. He has two sides (His right hand and His left hand). We are in His image and we are the same, we are the ones who are related to EVERY being on earth, share DNA with corals in the sea and even grass on the ground, and even every animal on earth. We are in His image and are everything, just as He is everything.
