David Duchovny was born in New York City, New York August, 17, 1960. He is a well know television and film actor most widely known for his roles in X-Files as Fox Mulder and Hank Moody in Californication.

His television career includes:

Twin Peaks were he had a role as a transvestite DEA agent.

He was the narrator and host of Showtime's erotica TV series Red Shoe Diaries.

In 1993 he started his staring role as Fox Mulder an FBI agent in the X-Files. He co-stared along side Gillian Anderson. His character was a conspiracy theorist, who believed in the supernatural and aliens. The show ran from 1993 until 2002.

During the run of the X-files he made several appearances on the Larry Saunders Show playing himself.

He has guest hosted Saturday Night Live twice, May 13, 1995 and May 9, 1998.

Duchovny has made guest appearances on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, The Simpson's, and Sex in the City.

He is currently on Showtime's series Californication, where he plays Hank Moody a troubled novelist.
