I know nothing about network marketing or websites, but I know that they work great together to create a successful home business.

For over three years now I have placed my faith and financial future in network marketing. It has been a roller coaster ride of a lifetime. I tried quite a few companies to work with hoping that this time this would be the one. None worked. What was I doing wrong? Why was my luck different from all other successful network marketers?

The answer to that was in my face but I could not see it. Not because I was blind but because I was looking at the wrong place.

Most multi-level companies have similar income earning potential. I want to emphasize, not the amount of money to be made in general but the amount that you can make with that company. Some companies have bigger bonus packages and compensation plan than others so you will make more money there and quicker but they all have the ability to create substantial wealth. You just have to know how to work them.

One of my mistakes is that I had placed a lot of trust in the websites that the companies provided. I thought it was the best thing to happen to network marketing. The generic websites provided by the company seems to be the answer for me. I could have people come to my website and shop without me having to walk them through. I hoped that I could get people to come to my site by simply modifying the way it looked. Choosing a different banner from the ones provided or by using different variations of colors from the ones they made available,I could attract more customers. Oh how I was wrong, I hope nobody else thinks that way.

What was worst is that I wondered why no one was buying fro me. The answer we all had the same identical website. The person who could afford to promote their site the most made all the money and we call them GURU (Lol)

The point is I knew nothing about websites and what gets them noticed at the search engines. I thought that if my site looked cool it would get a lot of visitors. Not that this concept is just wrong but it is also ignorant. Now I may seem harsh on myself but you have to understand that was really a serious lack of knowledge.

A website is a bunch of text and formulas. When it is not open on a browser it is an electronic nightmare that you cannot see. It is made up of a bunch of algorithms, formulars and a host of symbols and text that we cannot see and have no idea about.

To paint a picture, a website is like people on an unemployment line waiting for work. if you call their name then they come up and go to work. If you don't call their name well "better luck until next time". Sometimes you may call one name and 2, 3,4, 5,6 or7 different people may show up then you have to break it down to the lat name or social security number untill you get the right one. There are ways to cut to the chase for example just simply calling out the social security number but most times these short cuts cost more so we choose names.

When your website is not open on a browser the only way for people to find it is by …

  • A link from an advertisement whether it is a paid advertisement, referral or a random email.
  • The other way is for search engines to pull it up based on a search by an internet user looking for certain information that you have on your site.

With the first method you can see that for almost every person that makes it to your site you had to directly or indirectly invite them. This means to make a decent amount of money with your network marketing business you need a ton lot of referrals from your ads. Unless the product or service that you are offering has a high return on investment your profit is going to be minimal. If you are like me then you know that there are very few companies in network marketing that offers high ROI. With method number one you are destined to fail or wait a very long time to see any real success. However even so I wish I had at least tried that method. I just sat and wait for traffic. Oh I almost forget I did buy some leads and directed them to my website. I don’t know if they ever got there but I believe that if they did make it there they probably left even faster. People don’t buy things that they are not interested in. Also paying people to come to your network marketing site is no way to do business. In fact it is a total waste of money.

On the other hand the second method when executed properly is the ultimate process for network marketing success. I wish I knew that earlier. With this method the goal is simple; make sure that the search engines find your website. The ways to achieve that are also very simple. All you have to do is to create a great website. How do you do that? Put good information on your site. The key to building good websites are creating good content that is worthy of reading. Then include keywords in the text that are related to your topic and organized to please the search engines. It may sound like a lot of technical work and it is. Fortunately there are as always companies that already master the art and a ready to handle that part of the challenge for you.

As I said before a website is made up of a bunch of text and algorithms organized as a group called a webpage’s. Until you open those pages in a browser nobody knows what they look like or what is written on them. The search engine has to crawl your site and look through your content and pick out the keywords that relate to the searches. When your keywords match a searched keyword then and only then will the search engine submit them to be opened in a web browser. Without that keyword your website is lost. That is the reason for creating good content and strong keywords for your website. The good news is that once you do that your income goes on auto pilot. Every time people search for your keywords your website jumps out and then they see your pretty site. Now your website can work for you. Now I know the look and feel is important to keep visitors on your site but not to get them there. I had it all wrong.

So you see I know nothing about websites and network marketing. What I do know is that they work very well together.
