Relaxing? Surfing? Splashing in the waves? Throwing a frisbee? Reading a book. What do all of these things have in common?

The beach provides a cornucopia of options and has something to offer no matter who you are or what mood you might be in.

If it is relaxation you are after I recommend a quiet beach off the beaten track, preferably on a lake. Grab a book, an ice cold beverage and soak up the sun.

Alternatively if you are seeking adventure, head to the ocean. The waves are nature's best playground in my opinion. It's fun to boogie board or take a surf lesson.

If the water is not for you, the sand can be fun too. Grab a frisbee, a volleyball or simply go for a run along the shoreline.

My personal favorites are white sand beaches of Cancun and black sand beaches in Hawaii. However, any beach in Hawaii is fantastic.

However you end up spending your time, be sure to take a moment to take in the beauty of the beach. Feel the sand between your toes, smell the salt in the air, feel the warm of sun on your back.
