Getting Your Money from Your PayPal Account

If you have a basic Pay Pal account Pay Pal already has your bank account information and has verified it. Requesting a payment requires signing in to your account and clicking on the button that will withdraw funds from PayPal and transfer them to your bank account.

It could take two or three business days for the transfer of funds to be completed, but it often doesn't.

While this won't help with your immediate wish to withdraw money from your PayPal account, you may want to consider changing your personal PayPal account to a PayPal premier account, which offers with it a PayPal debit MasterCard.

The PayPal debit MasterCard allows you to withdraw cash from ATM's and make purchases, just as you would with a bank debit card. PayPal does charge a very small fee when funds are added to your account, but there are no fees associated with the use of the debit card. In fact, they now offer the PayPal Debit Rewards program, which will get you cash back on PayPal debit card purchases that do not require a pin number at the time of the transaction.

I find that the PayPal debit card is well worth the small fee assessed when funds are added to the account. It makes the PayPal account more like a second bank account.

Do you have the link to the PayPal Mastercard - I can't find any mention on my New Zealand PP - I am wondering if its only open to US members?

It is open to non-US residents. They ask non-US residents to sign that they are not violating California law. They do process non-US currency as well. I've been paid in pounds. PayPal then sends a message, "What do you want to do with this non-US currency?". You can have them convert money.

When people set up a PayPal account for the first time they do need to give bank information (account number, billing address, etc.). PayPal then deposits a tiny amount to verify that the account is good, up, running, and connected to the person who said it was their account. That takes a day or or so (maybe a couple of days). When you see the deposit in your account you let PayPal know how much, and your account is said to be "verified".

At the time you sign up for an account you can select a basic account, which is free. They do have some limit on how much money the account can take in and pay out each month (around $500). A basic account doesn't offer the MasterCard debit card. A premier account is the one that does.

Lissie, I tried adding the link, but HubPages didn't seem to put it on the hub. I'll try again, and I'll try to put it just under the hub. (I was thinking that because a PayPal ad showed up they may have built in something that wouldn't let me add the link.)

Even if the link can't be added, the URL is http://paypal.com

PayPal has a MasterCard credit card, and then they have the debit card with the MasterCard logo on it. The benefit of the MC logo is that you can use the card anywhere that takes MasterCard.

PayPal is available to 190 countries, and Australia is among those. I tried linking to the their page which lists all the countries, but for some reason it didn't work. If someone does a search, "countries where PayPal is available" they should get PayPal's own site, which does list the countries.

I don't think if anything is different with account in the Philipines, but normally you can do one of two things with PayPal.

When you signed up you have to link the PayPal account to your bank. Normally, someone can go to their PayPal account, select the option that allows you to ask PayPal give your your money (it's something like "request funds" or "request transfer"). Within a couple of business days PayPal will move the money out of your PayPal account and into your personal bank account.

Another option is to sign up with PayPal for the kind of PayPal account that will give you a PayPal Debit Card with a MasterCard Logo. It's the account that is "one level up" from the basic, free, account; but it has very, very, low fees. I don't know how many of which type of ATM's are easily accessible in the Philipines, but if you have the PayPal Debit Mastercard you can use it in ATM's other than the one your bank offers. (You should e.mail PayPal and ask them about any networks available in the Philipines.)

The easiest thing for you to do is go to your PalPal account and select the option that requests them to put your money in your bank account.

Hi, How can i withdraw from paypal when i'm a South African? They don't wanto accept my debit card? Is there any other way to do this?

Ester, I think the best thing is to go to www.paypal.com and click on "get started". From there you are brought to a page where you need to select your country. Follow that process to sign up. Signing up is free, as you probably already know.

If you have questions or problems you can click on "contact us" at the bottom of the page, and either either e.mail or call someone who can best answer your question.

If there's something unique about South Africa that I don't know (when it comes to receiving money from PayPal), and if I haven't give you the kind of answer you're looking for, I apologize; but I'm not sufficiently familiar with how things work with PayPal and South Africa (beyond what's above).
