I want to see if you prefer the Xbox or PS3.

Xbox 360 or PS3

There has been a divide to which console customers think is the best. The general consensus seems to be the PS3 edges it due to its all round capabilities such as its Blu-ray player and the fact that you dont need any extra cables to connect to the internet (unlike the 360).

Xbox 360's are definately cheaper but when you consider the fact that you need to buy a few add-ons to make it as advanced as the Playstation 3, the difference between the 2 all of a sudden seems less important.

Both offer online gaming and there seem to be very few problems with this and playing against a friend who is in a different location has a surreal feel at first but soon becomes something you can definately get used to!

Lets throw the Nintendo Wii in!

Ok, lets throw into the mix the Nintendo Wii. After all it outsells both the PS3 and Xbox 360. In the first half of 2007, the Wii sold more than than both the PS3 and the 360 together and in Japan the outsold the ps3 by 6:1 and the 360 by 2:1!

The success has been clear to see. Nintendo purposefully moved away from the traditional ways of playing video games, they encouraged their users to get off their seats and be more involved in the game. The Wii Fit has enhanced this reputation as the Wii Fit has a range of exercises for gamers to use to get fit whilst having fun on games such as skiing.

The PSP2 is coming!

According to sources close to Sony (and thanks to some leaked information!) we have reason to believe that the PSP2 is going to hit the market by Christmas. These were originally only rumours but these rumours have gathered speed over the last few weeks as concept designs can be found.

Nobody knows exactly what the new specifications are going to be but the general concensus is that it will include a slidescreen that will also be a touch screen which we can make use of whilst watching films or TV shows on the high quality screen (which is supposed to be slightly bigger than the original PSP).

Playing the games is easy and with the PSP2 comes 2 analogue sticks as well as the usual buttons to let you enjoy your favourite games. Surely there will be a host of games that are going to be released to compete with the other handheld games consoles such as the Nintendo DS (and soon to be released DSi) and now, increasingly popular, the iPhone and iPod Touch with its App Store.

There is no official release date for the PSP2 as of yet but there are plenty of people waiting in anticipation. We'll see when the details are released just how close everyone was to guessing.

Games for music lovers

Music and games are both favourite passtimes so it was inevitable that the two would come together to make one fantastic video game. Guitar Hero was the first to arrive which was available on Xbox 360 and PS3, then Guitar Hero 4: World Tour was released on the all consoles including the Wii.

Also on the Wii, there is Wii Music where you can play an array of instruments and is aimed at families (much as most Wii games are). These have all been extremely successful so it is no surprise that there is set to be the next installation of the series. Guitar Hero 5.

Apart from confirmation of its release, nothing has been confirmed yet. Details are set to be released soon but the one thing we do know is that it will be available on all formats (including PC). There is also Band Hero that is set to be released that will apparently span across more instruments than just the guitar.

I will update this when I next hear any info!!
