Iðunn i got your test comment. what's Up?
nothing, just shocked to see hubpages make a test comment. never seen THAT before. hehe
and by the way, I'd never compete with you on music trivia or knowledge. you are the undisputed king on that one. :D
Hey
I hope it's not an environment of competition anyway. This one is about beautiful songs.
I would bet you $$ that even if never heard a rap song in your life that you liked, you would like #45 UMI SAYS. I guess umi was his nickname for his granny.
you could say i double dog dare you.
But you have to hear the whole song beginning to end with no distraction and an open mind.
Close your eyes and see where it takes you.
ANY OF 'EM
Giving a song the same attention that you would a movie seems foreign to some people, I guess.
I breath a song in deeply like morning coffee.......unfortunately most of the stuff I end up smelling is something much worse.
I like some VERY FEW rap songs. a couple of the eminems I can't recall by name in the day didn't annoy me (which is pretty close to liking) and I really like the songs that made the NBK soundtrack. no idea the names or who did them. :o
I don't think I've ever heard the umi thing at all. LOL. I'll see if I can chase it down on limewire or something and let you know.
Do that please. It's so chill.
Great list!!!
Iðunn,
are you an ex-hippy?? Joni? Hubs on Dylan and even quoting hendrix in hub comments.)I'm just old. LOLZ I did mention that to you before.
It's such a toss-up because I'm so contrary even internally. I have no idea if I had been born in the proper era (in time for the 60s as a teen or adult) if I would have been a flower child or a member of the SDS.
ah, those hard choices!
Jonathan always a pleasure.
Any favs of yours up there?
Hmm it seems we are actually similiar in age. I was born in the year of love, but I always felt when I was a teenage that I was born 18 years too late.
1960. I came pretty close.
yeah, I feel like I missed all the good stuff too. :(
so where is Joe????
haven't seen that boy in a while
and Iðunn,
Your legs don't look like they were born in 60:)
Awesome list... totally love #5 (underated tune) and #11
Peter :-)
Peter PLEASE! now put those lyrics up there!! #5
lol, thx jonathan. that is probably one of the benefits of being a low-iq "circus freak" of a dancer who doesn't understand social interaction and could never meet anyone's parents. ;)
Iðunn that is the second time you said you were a dancer. Did you do any musical theatre?
no drama. the last time I did public speaking was speech class in college and I talked about the evils of tax shelterz for the elite. I bet you find that unsurprising. :p
I could also refer to myself a omputer programmer with a BBA. I did not do musical theatre in that capacity either. ;)
Hey Jonathan, Hi everyone. I'm here. Just working on another project! It's my guess that DJ's hear so much popular music, they tend to listen to obscure music. I guess it's like comedians. We don't listen to Robin Williams or Carlos Mencia. Those guys are hacks.
Just FYI, DJ. Runnin Down a Dream is one of my all time favorite songs. That guitar work is priceless...you know the riff I mean....da na na na na na na....
New Hub idea dude.
Top all time Air Guitar Songs.....?
OOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I already have the 100 greatest guitar solos but I didn't make it. I got it off a torrent.
p.s. I know cold where you guys are but what's going on over the Reggae HUB. Not one comment.
Oh well. I don't think I understood til I moved here.
I just posted the lyrics to #1 but I don't know if it's legible.
POLL QUESTION OF THE NIGHT!
I have completed the 450 songs of the 90s and
The top 50 Artists of ROCK, SOUL, HIP-HOP -3 lists.
THe Question is...
Should I release them differently than in the past. Many people have expressed that the lists can be overwhelming and perhaps forming sub-groups.
Should I release 1 artist a day with a profile of each artist singularly OR
not? Same old same old. Ain't broke, don't fix theory.
in for finding the long long lists somewhat overwhelming. maybe top tenz or top 50s?
Thanks. anyone else
Once again, the NEXT hottest hubber delivers the goods:
People say Im crazy doing what Im doing
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin
When I say that Im o.k. well they look at me kind of strange
Surely youre not happy now you no longer play the game
People say Im lazy dreaming my life away
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me
When I tell them that Im doing fine watching shadows on the wall
Dont you miss the big time boy youre no longer on the ball
Im just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go
Ah, people asking questions lost in confusion
Well I tell them theres no problem, only solutions
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if Ive lost my mind
I tell them theres no hurry
Im just sitting here doing time
Im just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go
Another great (choices) hub from our Hub DJ! Eheheh.
I have a request for you Funktual, can you make a selection of songs and make it a youtube video!? It doesen´t matter if it really has a movie (you can just connect several images), I just want to hear your choices here and I´m sure you will make a bang-up hub ;-)
Pleeeease!!!! lol
I would love to. Problem funride is I hav eno clue how people do it. I'm half a spaz on the computer and usually need things spelled out for me.
Well I´m probably the unfittest person to explain you (cause I have never tried) but I think that you just have to use any video editing software to connect the musics at the same time you insert the images you want. Or maybe the songs you choose are already @ youtube and you just have to post them on your hub. I´m sorry to bring this but I really would love to hear some music while reading your hubs ;-)
Sorry to jack your thread, DJ Funktual. Those who were looking for my email address can find it on my new blog site http://prettywasted.com/about-prettywastedcom/ and are more than welcome to write, say hello and guest blog on the site (while of course linking back to your all important hubpages articles.)
I'll be around. I'm not going nowhere:)
Sorry, but I haven't heard most of these. And I thought I was somewhat of a music expert. ;-) But hey, of the ones I know, I love everyone EXCEPT Don't Fear the Reaper. I just never liked the Blue Oyster Cult. And you say the bolded ones have fantastic lyrics? I'm a whore for killer song lyrics, so I'm going to try to look these up now. And thanks for the memories. I had forgotten about some of these fantastic songs!
Can't wait to hear back from you Angela!!
Anyone else have any favorites to reveal.
I'm always looking for new songs too!
