Have you ever tried to access a website and being confronted with a message that you can’t access it? In this development, the site may not open or you may be redirected elsewhere.

One probable simple answer to this is because the IP of the place (your country) that you are browsing from has been detected, and if your IP has been blacklisted, it won’t have access to that site.

That’s why many shopping, business, dating e.t.c. sites will not respond to users from some parts of Africa, Pakistan, and Russia e.t.c.

This is where the use of socks comes into play.

Basically, there are two types of socks:

1) Socks 4

2) Socks 5

Under socks 4 and socks5, you can have a US socks, China Socks, Japan Socks, Russian Socks, UK socks e.t.c.

With either the use of socks 4 or 5, you can be in Nigeria with the IP address of that of California or Decatur in Georgia.

With the use of Socks, you can enter any online store and purchase what you need to purchase.

Essentially, socks are used to intercept IP, a development known as anonymization. However, fraudsters also use socks for their hacking activities and cyber crimes.

Where can I get socks---your next probable question?

Many sites sell socks 4 and socks 5. However, the best socks to use is socks 5. Some socks lasts for 24 hours-48 hours.

72.223.2.153:8829--- this is a US socks, so, if u use it (am sure it would have expired), it will show you that you are in USA, no matter where you are.

How To Use Socks

A Socks 4 or Socks 5 is made up of two elements

1) An IP address and

2) A port

For example,

72.223.2.153:8829,   72.223.2.153 stands for the IP address while 8829 represents the port.

The port is usually the last 3-5 digits

How do you use it?

We have automatic and manual configuration of your IP, to do this, follow my laid down procedures

We are going to Mozilla browser

1) Click on tools from your firefox browser

2) Then click on Options

3) From options, click on network

4) when you are in network, go to connections, then click on settings

5) When you arrive at settings, check on “Manual proxy configuration”

6) After clicking on 5 above, then go to SOCKS host

7) Click either socks 4 or socks5; it depends on the socks you are using

8) Copy the socks value to the appropriate space, e.g. for 72.223.2.153:8829, you will copy 72.223.2.153 in the space for SOCKS host, then copy the remaining 8829 to the corresponding Port space.

9) After this, click ok

10) to check whether you are in the country of the socks you chose, then type in cmyip.com or showmyip.com in the firefox browser, refresh it, the country of the socks you used e.g. USA will appear. It will show you the state and location of the place.
