IRS Debt Help
54If you get to the point with the IRS that you need help in resolving
your debt, then you are in pretty bad shape. People may need help with
their IRS debt whether as individuals or as a business entity. If you
run a business you must pay your taxes quarterly and you are
responsible for any workers you have, in the way of taxes. You also
have lots of paperwork and you better turn it in on time to the
government. IRS debt help by a lawyer will be required if your business
is being threatened to be padlocked. The lawyer will be costly and if
you are lucky he will alleviate some of the damage.
Your lawyer might negotiate a lower settlement or help eliminate your
interest and penalties on top of the interest. If all else fails your
workers will be unemployed and join the legions of people already
unemployed. You too will be unemployed. If you are lucky you will still
own your home and will not be living on a park bench or in a cardboard
box. This would be caused by the government closing you down, or you
having to declare bankruptcy under either chapter 7 or chapter 13.
On a personal level you can still be tormented by the IRS. The difference is, unless it is a great amount of money you will not need IRS debt help from a lawyer, help using your own smarts and common sense will be sufficient. Speaking from personal experience, every year I get a letter saying I owe money from some years back that I do not even remember for what infraction. The letter never describes what I missed paying just that I owe the money. When I call and finally get through, I discover there is a fee in paying over time in installments. It is not that that much money so I pay the amount and whatever penalty and interest that accrued even though I believe I was straightforward in reporting earnings. My IRS debt help was cutting a check and getting them off my back, at least for another year. One thing is for certain, no matter what the experts say, if they collect easily from you they will seek you out again and again, year after year. It is easier for the IRS than chasing big corporations with counselors that would win in court and are trained for that kind of work. The corporations have the funds which you supply when buying their products to fight until a settlement is reached that is beneficial to them.
IRS debt help like all legal help for the little man or woman is costly and the IRS knows this well. There is nothing wrong with standing up for what is right, but you must pick your battles carefully. You are not going to win this one, so keep your powder dry for another day. The IRS is one of the most powerful departments in our government.
