I Dream in Color

So I'll start with the dream I had Friday the 13th.

I was in what appeared to be a secret attic with four or five other people. We had been brought there without our permission. And we were each to have a special magic ability.

It turns out my magical ability was to hold out my right arm and say 'spiders appear'. Then I would have spiders all over me and on drapes and furniture near me. I was somewhat lucid during the dream and I remember thinking eww this is kind of creepy and wow, this is cool.

Then I learned how to make the spiders disappear but that was harder than making them appear. Then I ended up with one pet spider. It was the size of my fist and hairy and black, like a dust ball. It liked to sit on my shoulder.

I remember reading once in a dream interpretation book that dreaming of spiders had to do with doing many small creative projects.

Or it could just be the giant cardboard spider I hung on my front door for Halloween with baby spiders dangling from it.

Oct. 15

I dreamed I was on a college campus. There were about 20 dancers doing complicated routines on this big slab of concrete. I kept thinking that they shouldn't be dancing on concrete because it's easy to get injuries. Then I noticed the dancers could make the trees move to different parts of the concrete. Then some trees sprouted out of the concrete and lifted the dancers into the air and they were dancing on top of the trees. Then the trees would disappear and the dancers would fall back to the ground, always landing on their feet and dancing again. All the dancers were young and fit and were male and female.

I had a great many dreams last night. Unfortunately I can only remember the beginning of the one I liked the best.

It was at night. I was using a key to unlock the door of the house where I was staying for the night. I remember thinking "I sure hope this is the right house because it's going to be really embarassing to walk into the wrong house."

But the key turned easily in the lock. The lady of the house was inside. I started getting undressed for bed when she came in and said, "There is someone at the door for you." I said, "Is it the fire department (because in my previous dream I had put out a fire)?"

She says, "No, this is someone you will be happy to meet."

I scrambled to put on some clothes. She said, "No, wear this." It was a cloak. So I put it on. Since it only tied at the neck I was holding the edges together with my fingers.

I opened the door. A man was standing there in Renaissance attire. He took my hand and kissed it a bunch of times. He was the messenger for someone more important that was going to come and meet me later.

Though the dream was long, I don't remember the rest of it. I vaguely remember meeting other people. They were always in old style clothing. And I'm really upset that I can't remember the rest of it.
