I am Losing My Hub Power

I am losing my hub power; good thing I did not join the hundred and thirty club because that requires hub power. A lot of the guys on hub pages have what I call hub power really it’s that they are good writers. Writing is something that requires skill a great vocabulary and knowledge of the English language since we are writing to English speaking people. I am grateful for a place to share my opinion. But good writers have more then an opinion they have a talent and a way with words. May be if I can putt, putt for a while I’ll get the juice.Yeah the juice see good writing is like homemade orange juice its perfect every time if the recipe is followed. And there’s a recipe to writing I believe any way here goes it word association, conten, vocabulary, and open mindedness, stating the fact and a lot of creativity, sentence structure, knowing the rules of grammar, and a little luck.

Good writing will hold a person attention longer than a movie will that's my because I love to read and I will not put a good book down, and for some reason books that become movies are not as good as the book. For example the lord of the rings I read the whole series at least fifteen times and my life, have yet to see all of one of the movies’ they take to much from the character.

Well maybe if I keep hanging round you guys I will get the juice I was feeling sorry for myself earlier fell a lot better know it’s the power of the Hub.

That another story the power of the hub is coming soon.

Hi there.

First off we all have bad days. Sometimes I go for months without writing anything.

Second, you have a huge vocabulary. You are a reader. Readers (IMO) make the best writers. You are critical of your writing and you are aware that there are better writers than you. That's a trait of a great writer. That's what keeps us humble and keeps us striving to be better.

What you might be doing is censoring your ideas thinking they are not good enough. I did that for a long time. This 100 Hub challenge is helping me to break free from that. I just wrote an article on Polka Dots for pete's sake. Remember, if you publish it now, you can always delete it later if you really feel it's a bad hub. So stop beating yourself up and put your feet back into the pool.

To improve your writing write,

I began with a paper notebook and a commitment to fill a page or thirty minutes each day.

Most days what I wrote was garbage. Occasionally I got into flow. The more I wrote the more often I got into the flow.   When I felt something was good I copied it onto  my computer and revised it. Then I joined a writers' group and they liked my poems. After that I moved to hort stories. Now I handle non fiction mainly.

In short. Keep writing.   Learn to edit and revise your work. Write something, leave it a month, review and revise. Then you can publish.

Good luck

Hi there Williamjordan. All of us have our good days and bad days. I know that there are quite a few writers here who have amazing hub power...one can see it, in the way so many have accepted the hubchallenge. I think it depends somewhat also on the time you have...besides the talent to write reams without even having to think and yet turn out quality stuff. There are some amazing writers here, but I feel the variety is what I like on HP...you have your own style and genre...so have faith.

My dear friend, we all face ups and down and in many cases your pen fails you! You seem out of words unable to express yourself. but trust me such momenets remind you that you are human and you should learn to enjoy those moments. AS i was reading through your hub i noticed something familiar" You are not the only one "! Sometimes i can't remember the world that i want. TRUST me, with time our knowledge of words will increase. And at some point we all develop our styles and points of views respecting life. KEEP TRYING , don't give up, and trust me you will find your true identity and style (and poweR) at the end!

Uriel
