I know this is going to sound a little bit strange but trust me...it works and it'll make everyone happy, especially the kids and on top of that it'll save a little money too.

Ingredients: ice cream (whatever flavor) and a loaf of bread (white or wheat)

Untensils needed: spoon or ice cream scooper

Now, take a scoop of ice cream and place it on a slice of bread; spread the scoop of ice cream to the edges of the slice of bread. Once the spreading is complete, take another slice of bread and top it off. And there you have it, your very own "home made" ice cream sandwich. Once the the assebly is complete, you can cut up the ice sandwich into whatever shape you like. Also the kids can lend a hand in making their own ice cream sandwiches. It's simple, sweet, fun, delicious, and it doesn't take a lot of time.
