I've been reading a lot lately, and trying to vary the types I read. I am presently reading the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to my nine year old for like the sixth time. I am also doing some research on cryptozoology for an upcoming novel I am writing that will feature cryptids strongly. I'm reading the Cryptozoology A to Z reference book that has lots of cool stuff. Interestingly, there's no reference to my current favorite cryptid, Mothman. In that regard, I'm in search of the Mothman Prophecies, but may have to settle for watching the movie.I have also recently read, and enjoyed enormously, the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. They say that truth is stranger than fiction, and this book proves that point.

I also read a very poorly written political book, titled The Case Against Hillary Clinton, which was clearly an ill-fated attempt by a writer who had an axe to grind against the Clintons, trying to knock off Hillary before she won her Senate seat in New York. I'm supporting Barack Obama in this campaign, but I actually found myself slightly sympathetic to Hillary after reading the book.

I also recently read Dan Simmons' book Illium, and started to read the sequel, Olympos, but somehow that copy mysteriously disappeared. I may have to pick up another copy.

Whereas I am presently training to teach writing for the University of Phoenix online, my leisure time to read has been significantly curtailed. Those are some of the works I've read recently, though.

By the way, if anyone likes cool scifi/fantasy novels, I've written one titled Antiquity Calais: Standing at Armageddon. I've posted the first few chapters here.
