Christian fundraisers are the easiest types of philanthropic activities that exist today. Almost everyone is willing to donate to the cause and help any way possible. Christian fundraisers are enjoyable and allow the local Christian faith to gather and support a cause. There are wide varieties of products you can use for your fundraiser, including discount cards, baked goods, book and food drives, crafts, and service fundraisers.

Discount cards work wonderfully for Christian fundraisers because they are relatively easy to assemble and require little material. The hardest part is finding businesses in your local service area that are willing to provide discounts. The cards can range in size and come in various formats. Magnet cards can be any size, but should be conservative so they can fit on someone’s refrigerator or freezer. Wallet sized cards should use the business card measurements. Discount cards can include item such as buy one, get one free (BOGO), percentage off purchase, free beverage or dessert, and many other ideas. The important thing is to make sure the cards can be used more than once at each venue.

Bake sales are an essential Christian fundraiser and can get everyone together to collaborate on the project. Baked sales require advanced planning, and in many cases, a large group of supporters to bake goods for the sale. Bake sales are great, however; it is vital to ensure every member cooks in sanitary conditions as the public has become increasingly aware of food borne diseases. Stick to the basics, such as cookies, brownies, and cupcakes. Don’t eat all of the goodies before the sale!

Book and food drive Christian fundraisers are easy to implement and help the greater cause: the pursuit of education. The ideal time to hold such drives is in the spring or after a school’s semester ends. Target all types of schools, from grade school to college. You would be surprised as to how much some books can be worth. Canned food drives are popular, however; due to our economy, they are never irrelevant. Hunger remains an issue for thousands of Americans and highlights a cause most people are oblivious to. Team up with local grocery stores and other public places to place collection bins.

Craft and service Christian fundraisers are a unique concept, however; they require a lot of effort from every member. Consider teaming up with elementary schools and having students create works of art and crafts for the fundraiser. For more income, work with local high school sculpture and art classes.

While crafts are not for everyone, consider providing a service as part of your Christian fundraiser. Christian fundraisers do not have to be fancy and complex. Consider gathering a group together and working an hour or two each week at the local food bank. Other ideas include working with the elderly and special needs. Make breakfast for a convalescent home one morning or consider having a barbeque for the mentally challenged.
