Idiots Guide to Global Warming Reality
59Idiots Guide to Global Warming Reality
While I was shopping at a Safeway a few days ago, I just happened to see the Idiots Guide to Global Warming sitting in the tabloid section. Incidentally, global warming and tabloid is so appropriate. As a result, I felt compelled to write something about the global warming issue that is free, without b.s., and is not related to any political agendas.
Almost every single day we are bombarded by stories of humans destroying the Earth, altering the environment, and using up the future or some such hyberbole or sophistry. However, If you do your research and leave the political stripe in its cage, you will find that humans are not so responsible or could even have the power to begin with to alter conditions on the planet.
I am routinely astonished of how many times I have heard people say they are so convinced that Al Gore is right, yet when asked if they have done their own investigating, they have to say no or Al Gore must know what he is talking about, since he is doing interviews and the like. You cannot call yourself intelligent or well informed if you just follow and not question.
Since many people just want to follow because it is easy and someone else is doing the work for them, how about following this line of thought about so-called anthropogenic (human caused) global warming?
First off, there is something at the center of our solar system called the sun (a.k.a a star). This is a massive thermonuclear (not newkular) fusion based energy producer many thousands of times more massive than the Earth and provides heat for sustaining life on this planet. Several factors are responsible for altering the weather on Earth that are a direct result of the sun's activity. Solar flares, mass ejections, gravitional pull, radiation clouds, and sunspots all have to do with the effects of weather on this planet that are out of human civilization's control. Additionally, the Earth's orbit around the sun is not a perfect circle, nor is static. At certain points, the Earth is slightly farther away from the sun and at other times, it is closer. Again, this is out of humanity's control. Jupiter's moon IO is an example of this. The gravitational pull of Jupiter actually warms up the interior of IO as the moon moves to its closer part of the orbit. As it IO moves to its farther out part of the orbit, the heating effect is not quite as great.
Secondly, the moon affects our weather. I know you are thinking of, how? The moon is inocuous. It just orbits. There are a couple of key, if not critical factors. First, the gravitational pull of the moon pulls on the oceans of the Earth. The oceans are an engine for weather on the planet. Thus one effects the other. It's simple physics. Also, the reflecting light and heat from the sun via the moon during the night also has a weather effect that many people are not aware of. This is out of humanity's control.
Third, there is an electromagnetic shield that protects the Earth from the deadly ultraviolet rays and other devasting radition emitted from the sun and other sources. This shield is generated by the spinning core of the Earth. Like everything else in existence, this shield has cycles. At the present time, it seems that the electromagnetic shield of the Earth is slightly weakening and is allowing a slightly larger amount of uv and infrared radiation to get through to the surface and results in slightly higher temperatures. This cycle appears to cycle every 30,000 years or so. This is a blink of an eye in universal or geological terms. It seems almost incomprehensible to us humans, who live a hundred years or so. When the cycle is complete, the shield should be restored to it's regular strength thus preventing more radition from getting through. Again, this out of humanity's control.
Fourth, the volcanoes of the world produce far more pollution than human civilization ever could. One of the biggest examples is the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Phillipines in 1991 and it's secondary explosions thereafter. This volcano, by itself, released more pollution, namely fluorocarbons, into the atmosphere than human kind has ever produced and ever will produce. The Earth cleaned itself up quite quickly afterwards. There was no ice age, the oceans did not rise and millions of people did not die, as the alarmists will scream and shout about. A more clear and present danger to humanity is not so-called anthropogenic global warming, but is the supervolcano living in Yellowstone National Park. If this were to go off, there goes the world. Earth will live on, but it is a potential extinction level event for human kind, not to mention thousands of other species on the planet. There is also another dangerous supervolcano under Lake Toba near Sumatra. This volcano almost caused humanity to go extinct some 35,000 years ago when it blanketed the world in a thick layer of atmospheric ash and dust that plunged the world in an ice age. Underwater volcanoes also alter the oceanic patterns of the planet that result in weather changes. I say again, this is also out of humanity's control.
Fifth, the Earth itself goes through cycles, as specified above with the E.M. shield. However, other processes such as El Nino and La Nina are responsible for the changing weather patterns. Both of these processes are out of human kind's control. The Earth has gone through ice ages and warming periods without a scintilla of contribution from humans. This is Geology and Climatology 101. Earthquakes also have some effect on the weather by altering water flows and changing the makeup of water distribution on the planet. A situation like this happened in South America where an earthquake in Chile created a crack in the land mass under the lake and it disppeared like water out of a bathtub. The alarmists were screaming global warming, but it was just an earthquake. Earthquakes are out of humanity's control I might add. Additonally, the glaciers on the planet also retract and expand with the cycles of the Earth. An example of this is found in Africa on Mount Kilamanjaro. The glacier has been melting since the 19th century, at least. Ice core samples have confirmed this. This is well before industrialization, the advent of the internal combustion engine, or the mass use of petroleum.
The anthropogenic global warming theory falls right in line with the Earth is flat theory or the Earth is the center of the universe theory. All of which have no scientific evidence to prove them. They are based on supposition, speculation, arrogance and ignorance. Not to mention the gulliability of people who just want to believe something to make themselves feel like they are a part of something.
Other examples of the faulty global warming theory are the scientist Kerry Emmanuel debunking his own theory about warmer weather causing more frequent and intense storms. This is a central plank of Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth, now completely rebuked and repudiated. John Stossel of ABC debunked Gore's so-called documentary. A British court debunked An Inconvenient Truth during a trial when a man sued the local school district, on behalf of his son, for only teaching one point of view and forcing it upon the class. ABC also nailed An Inconvenient Truth for using CGI graphics from the movie The Day After Tomorrow to prove a point by using a fictional context. It's basically a cleverly cloaked lie presented as the truth. Al Gore's own neophytes repudiated him during the Live Earth event because he was using his private jet too much and not using commerical airlines. Incidentally, the Live Earth event generated a large amount of pollution and waste. Thereby, nullifying the effect that it was supposed to have.
What this breaks down to is a world wide socialism. Human based global warming is being used as a pretext for bigger government, more taxes, more regulation, and the demeaning of the United States as a boogeyman. There are a select group of people making a ton of money from this global warming nonsense, not the least of which is Al Gore.
Follow the money and the power brokers. There is your Inconvenient Truth.

I can agree with you. Though I do believe that we as individuals and race of humanity have the responsibility to take wise dominion on the earth and with nature. There are many things that we are doing that are not healthy for us as humans, as well as nature. we are not in wise dominion of the earth. ecosystems do exist and do disappear because of our actions or inaction. there is disfunction in our wise dominion status
This is an addendum to my post. We should do all we can to reduce our pollution and keep the planet as clean as possible, but not to the invitation of a socialist government or job smashing over-regulation. A balance of economic stability and planet cleanliness is necessary and can be achieved via incentives in the marketplace.
again...great hub! Of course we should do a far better job of taking care of one of God's gifts. Only he can destroy it.
or we could just blame Bush!
