The song "If I Can't Have You" was performed by American frontrunner, Adam Lambert. The song and lyrics was written by Bee Gees members Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. The song was was immortalized in the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack as sung by Yvonne Elliman.

The song was intended to be included in the follow-up album to Children of the World in 1976. The song as sung by the Bee Gees was only released in 1978 and as the B-side to the track "Stayin Alive". It also appeared in the Bee Gees 2001 compilation "Greatest Hits". After 28 years the Bee Gees returned to the US Hot Dance Tracks charts when the remixed Bee Gees version was released in 2007.

Several artists including Kim Wilde, Eve's Plum, Young Divas and Taiwan singer Wilber Pan had versions of the song which topped the charts at various positions. Like many songs in the past and as many songs in the future it is remarkable how a song or lyrics that has seemed to die down can be revamped and awakened by an artist over night.
