The most commonly used for acid reflux disease is antacids.
Antacids provide immediate relief from the symptoms of heartburn by neutralizing the stomach acids such as Gelusil, Mylanta, Tums
Besides antacids, there are H2 blockers receptors, taken before a meal these work by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach. Which are Ranitidine, Cimetidine, Famotidine.

Believe this or not but ever since I was a little girl I get bad canker sores in my mouth, and recent years in my stomach and eusophigus but I suffer from a on-occuring virus called Kockzacky.
Misty thanks for stopping by hopefully the natural remedies will be helpful.
Sciantel, thanks for sharing have you tried these suggestions:
Buy Lysine vitamins. (Can be found at grocery stores and health stores) Take one every day by swallowing it with a full glass of water. Not only will it heal it but also makes your skin clear too! Read more here http://www.wikihow.com/Treat-Canker-Sores-or-Mouth

you didn't say anything about the proton pump inhibitors like prilosec or the alkaline diet. Didnt mention slippery elm whhich suppose to work very well.
Hot Dorkage, Thanks for sharing and mentioning those suggestions in your comment.
Thanks, Research Analyst
I have been reading about GERD and it can really signal some nasty and serious problems. If you're popping Tums constantly with no relief, SEE YOUR DOCTOR. Slippery elm -- I would definitely try that over consuming apple cider vineagar with meals. Yuck. That sounds like it would CAUSE heartburn!
Mighty mom, thats why its important to get all the facts: Apple Cider Vinegar also breaks down fat and is widely used to lose weight. It has also been reported that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar in water has high blood pressure under control in two weeks, it also cures allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout. Some have reported that it also helped with heart pain.
Great Hub Research Analyst! Another tip for anyone out there suffering from acid reflux or GERD would be to find out WHY you are and WHAT is causing it. I was diagnosed with GERD and suffered from it for two years until I finally had enough and went to see a naturopathic doctor. After listening to my symptoms and my situation, she recommended that I get tested for food intolerances/allergies. Turns out, I am allergic to soy which was causing the reflux. I no longer take the medication I was on for 2 years, eat all the spicy food I want and no longer suffer from GERD :) Just another perspective, hope it helps!

Great tips lynne and chad thanks for sharing I agree that if someone finds out what is causing the problem or why it is happening they will be better at getting to a solution that works for them.
