If you have an idea for a book should you get it copywrited before sending it in for consideration?

Typically you'll want to write the book before you do anything. You will probably face a lot of challenges from publishers if you only give them an idea for a book, unless of course you're already an accomplished writer. Complete the book first then start sending out query letters to literary agents. Once the book is published, you will own the rights.
