Have some dignity

If you are going to eat out at a restaurant, have some manners. There is a difference between a food court and going to a higher class full service restaurant, believe it or not. If you want to be rude, cheap, let your kids run around unsupervised and look for a free meal I'd suggest going to a McDonalds. That would be more your type of surrounding. Don't expect to go to a restaurant and do the same thing.

First of all, my staff are not your baby sitters. If your child can't behave, keep quite and sit still - get out. Other guests pay to be in an establishment where they can sit and enjoy their meal, not have kids running around screaming and throwing restaurant property ( like menu's and decorations) around hitting everyone. Don't look so surprised when your child runs into my server and knocks all the food out of their hand, and I end up charging you full price for all the meals destroyed PLUS the plate-ware which costs us around $40 a plate. Don't think threatening me will solve the issue, we have mall security to come subdue you, and the cops upstairs to charge you with damaging property if you want to make a big scene over it. Best way to avoid all this - make sure you control your kids, or don't bring them along.

Second, staff are only human and make mistakes. If you have a problem, politely ask to see a manager. Abusive language and behaviour won't be tolerated. You will be kicked out and depending on severity, charges can and will be pressed against you for harassment and abuse ( and in some cases assault). Work it out in your brain that the server DOES NOT cook your food!! The most involvement they have is taking your order and clearing your plates. Kitchen makes the food. Don't be a dumbass and ask for the chef, he is on line trying to cook and can't come out just because YOU demanded it. Deal with the manager. Oh, and the manager most times doesn't cook your food either so lay off with the abusive language. I'm so tired of customers being fussy with food that has no problem and yelling at me like I made it. Really, I don't give two craps how the Keg makes a quesadilla, this isn't the Keg, and if you don't like it, don't order it again. Simple as that.

Don't look so surprised your still getting charged for a meal you mostly ate. If there is no fault of the kitchen or server then your getting charged full price.

If your going to order alcohol please remember - this isn't a test-tasting free for all. If you take a sip and don't like it, then you shouldn't have ordered it. Don't expect it for free. Alcohol is NOT cheap and your killing our liquor costs. If YOU spill it, YOU pay for it!! Don't expect a free refill!! If your really awesome customers, this is a manager preference so yeah we can do something for you but if we see the same faces every week pulling the same thing, don't expect any favours.

If your ordering meat, depending on the menu most of the only meats you can cook to order are steaks. Don't be an ass and try order a medium rare burger. It's not legal to serve you that. No we don't have to do it if you order it like that. We are bound by health codes and regulations, your not above them so we are not obligated to compensate you because your being an idiot. Same goes with some seafood dishes. This isn't a sushi house, we don't serve salmon raw. It is fully cooked. If you don't like it, don't order it. Read the menu before ordering, don't just make things up.

The whole point of this, is that it is not okay to go out and think you can take advantage of people of situations and get away with it. If there is a problem, work it out like an adult. Treating people badly and misbehaving is not as intimidating as some people would like to believe, and there are managers like myself that just wont put up with that crap, and get rid of you. I have a duty to my staff and company to keep it running efficiently, profitably and keeping it a safe environment. If you can't behave, don't eat out. We don't need your business if your costing us ours.

For the most part, problems can be solved efficiently if both parties work together. I know this is a sue-happy, get-everything-free society these days but that's not the answer, and is quite shameful for people to treat it like that. Put yourself in the shoes of the person running the business, how would you feel if that where you being abused and ripped off? How would you feel if someone threatened your child the way some of you come in and threaten and verbally abuse the staff? It's just not acceptable.
